when a horse hits 10
-
When a horse hits 10, do you still get benefits if you neuter it? I don't intend to breed this one again.
-
If it hasn't levelled off then neutering it will give it a small training boost. If you mean daily payouts when you say benefits then they will continue and will improve if the horse is shown.
-
Neutering a horse adds 1 year until it levels off, usually. Perfect Foundations, for instance level off when they turn 9 if intact and when they turn 10 if neutered. Intact and neutered horses continue to add to their point collection as long as they are being shown, unless they end up leveling off when they are at the very bottom of their classes. If they are not at the bottom of their classes, they're still worth showing if you have room to keep them.

It all depends on their PT. The altering bonus basically gives them an extra game-year of training, if I remember correctly. So if their PT is 7, and they're over 8, it's not really worth altering them anymore.Formerly OscarWildin

Thanks, and thanks for making that understandable for me. I truly appreciate it.
