Has anyone ever started over?

Like sold off all but your foundie stock? Im considering it. Was there a HB you were at to support the loss of daily bonuses? What else can you tell me about it?
-
I had drafts in this server at one time. Sold them all off and started over with warmbloods. Because I was having trouble finding drafts and I went from warmbloods to drafts in forest because I was having trouble finding warmbloods. I couldn't find the ones I wanted for sale so I changed and now I find what I had in the first place lol. But I am not changing back again. I ended up with enough hbs to start over thankfully. I have been playing since August and it was a month in or so that I made the change. So I didn't have a daily pay out to save me. There were a few I could not sell because I wasn't allowed to sell them but almost every horse in the barn went. I am just now getting close to 6000 in daily pay out. And I am now bootstrapping in this server and forest. And that helped to boost the hbs. But in the forum some one posted how to make hbs kinda quick. Create 4 yr pointed foundation mares breed them in the pastre and then sell the mom for half her curent life pay out and put the baby in auction and you get 2500 for baby and only paid 500 to make it. Unless some one bids on it then you could get more.
Hope this helps -
I think I started over once, but that was years ago when the papering system changed. Then I went to all foundations to start with when DHHs started coming out. I still remember my first DHH stallion that I kept, I was so excited when he popped up on the creation page. He was from the Roan Splash Appy DHH and he turned out to be a silver blue roan splash appy that was also StySty and I forget what else. I doubt he still exists in the archives in some form. Anyway, that doesn't answer your question, lol. Just a stroll down memory lane.
I've been tempted to just start over with my current foundations several times, but what kept me from pulling that particular plug is sentimentality over my older lines from bygone stallions. I did just recently get rid of all my breeding stock past 4th generation and I might still wind up pruning back to 3rd gen or 2nd gen. Time will tell. -
I purged a bunch of my breeding stock, sold some, auctioned others but mostly, just altered and stuffed them into show barns. I culled them if they were warmbloods or drafts, and then from there I culled for papers, red or b at 2g were culled, and then from there if they didn't have the genes that I wanted to see.
And I'm getting the genes and riding horses that I want to see so I'm happier.Licensed for: All Axiom Genes, All Rainbow Riot 1 & 2 Genes, Splash M, Phantom except for Wisp, All Ice, Mushroom, Onyx, DFP2, Shatterglass, Chinchilla, Platinum and Height Regulator -
I breed heavy bone, but I also allow warmbloods/sport ponies and the rare surprise riding horse/pony foal if they have the right genes and papers. The main reason why I allow for the riding horse/pony now and then is because that's what most people breed for, so if I want to add outside blood to my lines, that's what I have to go with. Not many breed for heavy bone. So I've got to be flexible if I want to add outside blood.

I’ve done a few mini purges a couple time. I always keep all of my show horses when I do it. I do what Helen does, I geld or spay most of them an tossed them in a show barn. A few I would try to sell but they had to be pretty spectacular.

I've done it once! I always ALWAYS keep my show horses and just sell my breeding stock off. It's not as hard as you might think! (At least not for me) I began looking for horses ASAP and with the show payout from my show herd I was able to buy a few really good foundations to start back up!

I need bigger barns. Maybe ill try to save up for a 1k horse barn for all my show babies anf clean out all my other barns...
