Goal achieved after nearly four and a half years!
-
When Ammit introduced the three different bone sizes she mentioned that we might like to see how long it would take to breed a heavy boned horse from light boned ones. After a while I decided to give myself the challenge of starting with breeding stock that were light boned and pony sized and by strict breeding generation wise, and also quality wise, see how long it would take me to reach heavy boned AND tall enough to be horse size. I created my first batch of Riding Ponies on 1st April 2017 that were C/Yellow papered and today I have finally bred a 10th generation Star papered Draft Horse.
WV C Challenge Achieved
The trouble is, that after four years and five months I don't think I can stop! I might carry on and make each generation heavier and taller.
I am very happy.

Congrats, that's awesome! Horseangel told me people do that but I hadn't seen it. It gives me hope as I recently decided to move toward heavys out of a primarily WB/RH herd.Post edited by boredaf at 2021-09-13 15:29:26Licensed for:

Congratulations on meeting that awesome challenge! Well done!
Checking your foal's height and bone weight, there is room to grow even yet. I'm sure the tallest horses are at least 18.0, maybe 18.2, hands high and someone recently commented on breeding a draft with a 4.? bone weight.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2021-09-13 20:12:25Thanked by 1WhiteValley -
Awesome, congratulations on this achievement! It is a good inspiration that it is possible to achieve your goals!HJ1 160524

It is perfectly possible to do this in reverse. Start with Drafts and work down to Riding Ponies.
I've decided to keep going because I've been doing it for so long it's become part of my plans. I keep everything in house, sell back to the game rather than auctioning so that I can keep tight control over my goals, and have a minimum bone/height requirement for each generation. All the horses are given their own tattoo - Challenge Herd. :) -
