Papering question... (Solved!)
-
It seems to me I should know this after playing this long, but I just don't. So, if I gmt B-papered studs into mares, will they necessarily be Red-papered? Or when I put them through papering again will they be papered by a different standard, being mares, and maybe turn out Yellow?Post edited by Cavalynn at 2021-12-25 17:07:41

Assuming they’re foundation?Thanked by 1Cavalynn

These would be 2Gs. I suppose that makes a difference when they're judged against their parents. Sorry, I forgot to mention that in my question.Post edited by Cavalynn at 2021-12-25 11:36:04

They'll still be red papered, but just because they test a certain way against their Sire doesn't mean they'll test the same against their Dam.Thanked by 1Cavalynn

Ah, so they'll probably paper the same quality, but not necessarily? Because that's kinda what I was figuring.

Papering is based on a breeding quailty number and that remains the same whether they are male or female. They will paper at the same level 100% of the time.
However, they may not test superior to dam if they tested superior to sire. Comparison testing has some variability and the sire and dam may also be different quality. If sire and dam are both equal (like both are ExPro) then the resulting foal will comparison test equally. Expros always have 105% breeding quality - they will paper B/Red. They produce a hypothetical foal with 107% - foal papers B/Red and would comparison test superior to both no matter the gender.Post edited by Humboldt at 2021-12-25 16:43:03 -
Ah, that makes sense! Thanks so much, @Humboldt!
