When and where were horses first domesticated?
-
For any of you with even a mildly scientific bent, this article from Smithsonian Magazine presents a fairly detailed account of current estimates about when and where domestication most likely occured, including the genetic differences between domesticated horses and the wild Przewalski’s horses (pronounced shuh-VAL-skees) of central Asia.

Lemme just add thank you for putting the pronunciation of "Przewalski’s", because I have read that word hundreds of times and read it wrong every time and the right pronunciation is much nicer than what my brain was inventingSpiderweb Stables

You're welcome. Taliesin. I had never been quite sure of the correct pronunciation myself. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one helped in that way by the article.
