I've been trying to figure out where to go with my breeding program, and make a new foundation stud, and I'm very excited about my New Coke colt who's starting to get pretty exciting-looking. Not sure what else I'll add yet, but I've got a bit of time. I'd love to put a kit or other white marking gene on him, and as much as I adore Kit M, I almost feel like I want to switch it up. I'm not a big LP fan, but I'm kind of considering a sabino gene.

I also don't usually love flaxen, but I'm kind of obsessed with his little bleached blonde mane and tail.

What would you add to him? I'm not sure I want to spend the GMTs on a DFP gene, but it might be a really cool addition. I'm also really into cream, but have so much cream in my lines already, I might skip it on this guy.

Well, if you're looking for a KIT gene, my personal favorites are W8, Tobiano, and M. Any combination thereof looks really cool too, though that makes breeding true to type nearly impossible. I also love Splash M, which is especially amazing with W8 or Kit M, and those combinations can be successfully bred true to type.

For an LP horse that doesn't necessarily look like your typical Appy, I like using Snowflake. Rather than a big white patch with or without color dots, you get these really neat white spots spread over the body. I think it looks cool, but it's not for everyone.

As far as Sabino is concerned, I think it looks best on Brown phenotype horses, but it could look really nice on your boy!

I already have so much Kit M and W8 in my liver/chocolate palomino lines because I love them, but I might just have to do it anyway :))

I love W3 personally, and W10 but my W10 lines occasionally give me lethal if I don't pay attention. I love KP so I use a lot of Kit genes.

I have 40 tokens left currently and want to save some cash for now, so here are some options I'm thinking:

1. Just two copies of satin and then hold off until I can put some white markings on him next month or so

2. Kit M and Sabino 2 (start with sabino 2 and see how it looks, because I found a horse in my mad searching with W20 and Sabino 2 and it was STUNNING), and then find some more fun stuff to add on, maybe onyx or another copy of DFP2

3. Wait until next month when he's bigger and I can visualize it better lol

I added his white markings and another copy of DFP2! Might still add satin if I can afford it before he gets to breeding age.

Wow, he's stunning! My own project boy looks like a version of yours except with Cream lol. I was stuck what Kits to add myself and now after seeing yours.......I think I'm sold on the Kit M & SB2 :D

@OscarWildin- I have some SB1 in my Liver herd but not any SB2, so we'll see how that goes over lol. He's also my first time getting DFP2 on a foundation, am super excited to be adding that in my lines as well! Aw, thank you!

@Humboldt- Of course! He should be done either this month or the next, just gotta save up for the Kit M (kinda blew all my HBs/IVs on the last Lab Sale lol) :D

Making my boy a girlfriend! I combined my alt into my main account, so I have a few extra GMTs.

Should I: put Sooty+ (het or hom) on Hyperion
Put satin (het or hom) on this lady
Put a white marking on this lady
Put one copy of Sooty+ on Hyperion and one copy of either S+ or one copy of satin on this lady
Something else I haven't thought of lol
