showing lined horses

I'm doing a study on a bunch of my young horses, noting who is scoring points, comparing their PT and their papers and their points, and have noticed there is not always a correlation.
In a group of geldings for example, (all with the same sire, born on the same day) the best show horses are not the ones with the highest PT and papers.
I also noticed that one of my young mares who was ostensibly for breeding seem unusually well suited for showing. I am thinking that maybe they should go that route, even if they are better than their parents and have passed SBA. Is it wrong to neuter horses like that? I mean, she is scoring points as good or better than almost all the geldings her age.
Thank you for your thoughts on this. -
So , I ve found alot of my higher PT foals start slower ; but continue to gain for longer compared to my lower PT foals which seem to fly through the lower levels then level out closer to their PT score. Regarding mares, i show all of them until they hit the pasture, then off they go to be momma's esp if they have PT scored higher than her parents as well as tested sup and papered higher. its those 3rd and 4th gen show horses from those mares that give you your best show herd :)Thanked by 1Fiddler

It also depends on how you’re showing them too. How many of your own horses are being entered in the same class?
I noticed that with some of my 2yos one year and when I went to cull them off, I noticed it just so happened that an entire class was full of all of my own horses. Each horse is different so some scored higher some scored lower, thus affecting their overall points and such.
It’s not necessarily that one is better than the other per say, its about their points, consistency, and just so happens where they fall that week with points in what class

@bravo52 howcan you avoid them all being in the same class?
-
@Fiddler ; the only way I know of is to manually enter them into different classes 1 at a time

There is zero reason to avoid having them be in the same class.Need to contact me? Read this first.
