Do you keep every foal? If not, I don't think you're going to be getting a true picture of what the mare is capable of.

I'm not yet at the point where I have the room to keep every foal.

I think its a lucky/unlucky mix between the mare and stallion you choose depending on both parents hidden numbers for breeding potential. Ive had some mares produce better AFPT when paired to different stallions . Like ill have one stallion in 1 pasture for 2 to 3 seasons. The mares that dont produce well i move to another pasture with a different stallion for a couple seasons to see how those foals match up. Most of the time once i change the stallion for the mares that produced poor results i get better foals .

A guide is hard to go by unless your starting with exceptional producers which start out at 10.40pt.
I keep foals that are 10.50pt or higher. The highest ive gotten for a 2g is 11.10pt.

Now if your starting with mares that are yellow papered and with lower than 9.90 pt i just add .10 to .20 to what i would expect to have from said mare. Anything equal or less i speld.

Brandybrookes the game does not have a system like that.
