What Generation are you Getting **Gold & **Star?
-
I just got my first few **Gold and **Star papers in my 6th generation foals. I want to use these as a new benchmark and turn all my other 6th gens into show ponies, but I want to make sure I'm not shooting myself in the foot too soon..
I was wondering if anyone else has been able to get **Gold and **Star foals in the 6th generation without any boosted horses. (I breed starting with ExPer foundies.) The reason I ask is because I, for the most part, do not use boosted horses, but I stumbled across a foundation stallion with a 5% boost on him for 2,500hbs way back in my early days and I wanted to make sure that he's not the only reason I got these results this far down the line (now that he's aged out and I no longer have any boosted horses.)
I appreciate anyones insight and experience!Post edited by OfMoosehorn at 2023-09-27 13:39:22 -
I also only breed from ExPers and without boosted stock, and I have a handful of **Gold and **Star at 7th generation, but none at 6th. I also only had BA, and not SBA while many of my lower levels were being tested.
In your shoes, I would hold on neutering until you get a couple more double **.

I start my lines with mostly regular creates back when I had a fully lined, equal 5th generation, I was able to get *Stars. I sent everything through SBA, both then and now.
I only keep the top foals after comparison testing too. So, I think ChateauAlbere is right. You should be getting **Stars by the 7th generation.Craven Hill - 86081
