This year, I had my DP horses separate in a pasture of their own.
I was curious, so I bred that pasture today.
Pasture email said this foal was the best.

However, I can't tell if he does have DP. His sire is a Fuel to the Fire and his dam is liver. So he had a 50% chance of inheriting the DP.

How dark is he? One copy or is he a black? Well... looking at his dam, he can't be a black because he's not dark like she is. Does that mean she's a black red dun?

Its really not important. DP isn't that rare. If you like the color breed it.

It may not be that rare for a lot of people, but for me it is since I don't go on creating sprees and all that. I think I'll sit on the 3 boys for a bit and decide later.

So the first one has a 75% change of having DP since he has a 25% chance of being homozygous and a 50% chance of being heterozygous. To me he looks like he probably has DP, but I can't really tell how much.

The second one looks like a liver red dun, and his dam looks like she's probably a black red dun.
