The southernmost state of Brazil is being destroyed by an unprecedented flood. Entire cities of the metropolitan region are submerged. The capital is partially flooded. Lack of electricity in many neighborhoods; shortages because the roads to the capital are blocked, destroyed or flooded, so trucks with all sort of products cannot deliver their loads. The pumps that drain water from the city streets are damaged, so the level of waters rises more and more. Water treatment stations pumps are not working because the electric systems are flooded, so there is no longer water in the houses and buildings of many of the city's neighborhoods. Aaaand I'm in the middle of it... Leaving to the coast tomorrow, as the mayor said those who can move to the coast, do it soon. So sad to see people and animals losing their homes - or lives. On the top of it, so much bureaucracies that only delay rescues and support for all those people in need. It seems to me we are living our own apocalypse.
