I did some further testing this morning to get hard numbers using all perfect foundations

Stallion A: 10 foals from embryo = foal score of 402

Stallion B: 10 foals all maxed out = foal score of 414
This is a perfect score and the best you can get with a perfect foundation breeding.

Stallion C: 1 foal maxed out and cloned 9 times (10 foals total) = foal score of 414
When cloning some foals go down on training and some go up averaging out

Stallion D: 1 foal maxed out and cloned 15 times (15 foals total) = foal score of 415
The lower ability clones fall off (only the top 10 count) pushing the foal score to better than perfect.

Stallion E: 1 foal maxed and cloned 9 times (10 foals) BUT cloning could only swing down not up = foal score 412
If you made enough clones you would eventually get back up to 414, but it would take more than 10 clones but you would never be better than a perfect score

Stallion F: This guy had impossible breeding but I wanted to get a clear idea on the scale of the numbers needed here.

Bred to 100 30 day pasture mares = foal score 411
Bred to 200 30 day pasture mares = foal score 412
Bred to 300 30 day pasture mares = foal score 412
Bred to 400 30 day pasture mares = foal score 412
Bred to 500 30 day pasture mares = foal score 412

When looking at his foals he had a lot of foals with perfect breeding ability, and a lot with perfect training ability but none that were perfect in both. I do think I got some bad luck here because anyone who maxes regular can tell you it does happen that you run into an already perfect foal.

I think in addition to removing the training upswing on clones, making the pasture boost a bit stronger would also be reasonable. I think if you put a few hundred AI foals in the ground you should be able to get a perfect score.

As things currently sit, when competing in a limited era cloning of maxed foals is mandatory to take the best breeder slot. I don't like that you have to breed a specific way to win, and remember you have to be a premium account to clone.
