Paying it Forward Offer # 3 -- All shares now taken. Thanks to all who participated.
-
If you joined since the beginning of January and have been playing longer than 2 months, have a free account or a Level 1 upgrade and you desperately need more stall space and can't afford to buy a barn just now, post your stable ID here along with the answers to the following questions.
1. What are your goals for the game or are you still getting used to playing?
2. What do you like best about playing Hunt and Jump?
3. Post a link to the favorite horse in your stable right now.
I will send enough hajibucks to purchase 10 IVs, enough to get an additional 30 stall barn to the first 5 members who meet the qualifications above.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2015-09-30 12:51:43 -
I went back and forth on posting, since I did benefit from two give-aways recently (as a matter of fact, if you said you'd rather not give me anything because of that I'd be perfectly fine with it)... but I really could use barn space. I'm trying to save up for a level 3 upgrade and I was thinking I might have to spend IVs on another barn first.

1. I think I have a handle on playing the game now. Right now my number one goal is to buy an upgrade so I can do the rest of the testing on my horses to make them more valuable to the game. Second goal is to breed a few silver blacks, liver chestnuts, and homozygous tobi/appys to start my lines with.
2. The thing I like best about Hunt and Jump is the slow pace and the powerful game play offered when it comes to long term planning. Making goals and seeing them come to fruition is one of my favorite things, and its nice to have something a little faster than real life and not so serious when things go wrong. Plus I love the real genetics!
3. Wow... not sure about just one favorite, but I have a new colt I really love the color of, and also two of my first gray mares. I really love what the gray is doing on them.

I hope its alright I posted three, I just wanted to show them off! Let me say too, I am just blow away by how friendly people are here. I jumped on the first give-away because I thought it must be a once in a lifetime thing. Now I realize that people here are just that eager to help each other out. I can't wait until I can afford to do the same and pay it forward. I love this game more and more everyday!
Thanks!Post edited by Cavalynn at 2015-07-16 20:24:05 -
Wow! You definitely do need a new barn! I see that yours are sadly overcrowded.
Don't you just love the dapples on Silver Flame? Ammit has been doing such great things with the new image generation program that I am continually amazed. The gray mares are lovely, too.
Thanks for sharing your goals.
You should now be able to add that barn. -
Thanks so much! I bought a new barn, now I'll be able to keep all of my favorite foals this season!
-
Just trying to keep this offer from being lost on the back pages.
-
I recently benefitted from your generous Hb offer and currently am not in desperate need of a new barn immediately so don't feel like it's right to take this offer too but would like to say that it is incredibly generous of you!
-
Thank you, Margot. I'm truly glad to be in the position that I can do this, and it's all thanks to Ammit's reworking of the showing system.
Since I'm a pixel pony hoarder, I have lots of horses showing and my showing bonus is such that I can now afford to add barns with IVs whenever necessary here. (This frees up my real-life money to purchase other great stuff in the upgrade menu.) But I played for years when running out of stalls was a frequent event (like every breeding season *G*) and finding the real life cash to purchase another barn was a definite concern. It's still that way on my HAJ2 account. (This frees up my real-life money to purchase other great stuff in the upgrade menu.) My experience of those times was a major factor in my decision to make this offer to new players. -

I started in March and I am obsessed with this game. So far I think I have made as many mistakes as I could, and going strong. A 30 stall barn would be such a boon. I can't tell you.
1. What are your goals for the game or are you still getting used to playing? I'm playing this game for fun. I was laid up over the winter and this looked like something fun to do while I was laying in bed. Now I am having a good time showing my horses. I like naming them. I have been contemplating selling my favorite horse, who is not showing well, because she is eating my profits and I'm running out of space. Some day I might find it fun to breed for a color or pattern but right now I'd like my horses to do well and prosper.
2. What do you like best about playing Hunt and Jump? I love to create new horses and train them up to show. I haven't bred much so far but when my horses have foals that grow up and start to compete that makes me really happy. The game is so complex and some of the rules are hidden so there is a lot to figure out. I don't really game the game to get points or handjbucks, I play like it's my own little farm of ponies living and working.
3. Post a link to the favorite horse in your stable right now. This is my favorite horse. Sigurd
-
I like your favorite horse. She reminds me of the horses I started out with. I decided to focus on roans when I began playing for myself, instead of just watching over my daughter's shoulder while she played, which is one reason I named my stable SandyCreek, so most of my horses were roan for quite a long time. Since then, I've branched out into almost every color and pattern available, but I still really like roans. A good place to get solid foundation horses that will do well in the show ring for quite some time is the Foundation Rescue (owner 13). All the horses available will be the best breeding and showing quality that ordinary foundations can be. They are also 100% consistent in their showing, so they gain 3 points with every training and have the same score both times they show in a week.
This is a truly amazing and addictive game. Welcome to the ranks of the fascinated. :D I hope that having the room for 30 more horses allows you to keep your favorite horse. The more horses you can gather and show, the bigger your showing bonus will become. It does take a long time to get to the break-even point, but with patience you can get there. -
Hi :)
Hope this is still going as I am in desperate need of more space.

1. To be quite honest I am still getting used to this game; but my main goals is to breed and have horses who show well. I want to learn more and I've been reading the "Help Me Out" questions and different things on the forum to try and learn.
2. The thing I love the most about this game is breeding foals and training them to show. I also love to buy my horses tack and make cut little jumper tack sets :D
3. Oh to pick just one? That's so hard.
This is one of my favorites: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2430109
Here's one of my other favorites: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2246533
Here is my favorite that I ever bred, well created with the herd helper: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2865600HJ1 ID #: 211869

Those are three very nice horses. I love what you have done with their tack. It sounds like you're making a good start in the game. I hope that having more room will make your experience even more enjoyable.

SandyCreek Acres,
Thank you so much. I am so glad I can keep Sigurd, who I love more than one ought to love a small bunch of code. I will definitely check out the rescue for more show horses while my little ones are growing. I did find a few well bred horses at the auction that are starting to show well for me. Early on I bought a highly rated stallion, too, that I have been using to breed, before I learned that I ought to be breeding my own. Little Sigurd is going to become a dedicated brood mare now, with maybe a little showing but she gets to stay. I can't wait to see what new opportunities I find now that I have more space for horses. -
I'm so glad that I was able to help you out. That's good news about Sigurd. It makes me very happy that you can keep her now. You can still show her, you know. I've always shown all my breeding horses, unless they are in pastures or the primary barn (and that last's because I seldom have time in my busy schedule to show that barn by hand). Some of my top money winners have been intact horses.
There's no harm in using outside lines, either. Many players will seek outside blood on purpose so that their lines don't become too inbred, although there is no harm to the horses in doing that in the game, thank goodness.
Please don't hesitate to ask me for answers to questions or advice at any time. -
Moving this up in case any more newer players might be interested.
The offer still includes 3 more chances for players who joined since the beginning of January and have been playing for at least 2 months (since that's the requirement before game cash can be transferred from one member to another). -
SandyCreek Acres,
Look at this horse I created last week. When I first saw him I had great hopes for him as a stallion, but sadly he got gelded and he's inconsistent. I think I'll keep him for a while and enjoy the color.
Oops, I probably shouldn't put this here. I don't know how to send you a message otherwise. Is that possible?Post edited by esterville at 2015-08-09 18:41:44 -
Don't worry about posting it here. I was thinking I needed to get this post back onto page 1, but didn't want to do it myself. *G*
If you click on my name in any post, you will come to my info page. Under my name is a link to send me a private message. You can also go to your own inbox (the link is in the dark blue bar at the top, and either find a previous private message conversation we've had or start a new one.
As for this horse, he is a pretty appaloosa. You could try showing him, although, since he's inconsistent it might be hard to predict how he will do in a show. I've learned, over time, that almost any horse can earn you money, with luck. I've also learned that the automatic neutering is a very good thing. Just as in real life, not every horse ought to be a parent. -
Returning this to page 1, since I was just able to help out another new member via a different thread. This offer is still open to two more new players.

Hello!
Stable ID: 220054
I don't know if this offer is still good but if it is I could really use the stalls!
1. Right now I'm still kind of getting used to the genetics and different aspects of the game but I'm starting to breed for more overo color patterns
2. My favorite part of the game so far is all of the variations! You can really create just about anything you could think of.
3. http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3512547
He's my first successfully bred splash horse! I'm excited to see how he turns out :)
Thank You! -
This offer is certainly still open. Thank you for taking advantage of it. I like the looks of Watch A Whizzin Gun. I hope he makes it safely through Gelding Advice. He's really beautiful.
I sent you a PM, and you should be seeing the added hajibucks in your balance.

I'm not entirely sure if I qualify for the giveaway since I started in July and it's like less than a day til October haha but I'll answer anyway!

1. What are your goals for the game or are you still getting used to playing?
Still sort of getting used to playing but I've tentatively decided to breed for Ice Appaloosas and get my show string up there so I can fund my need for gorgeous, high-quality Ice Appys. =]
2. What do you like best about playing Hunt and Jump?
I love the community the most. Everyone is ridiculously helpful that I regularly search the forums for questions people have asked and read the entire thread, even if I already know the answer.
3. Post a link to the favorite horse in your stable right now.
I have a couple favourites actually!

Yes, you qualify. The two months mentioned is based on the fact that the game rules state that I can only send money to players who have been playing for more than 2 months. Since the other cut off was to have joined since January, you fit the profile perfectly. I'll be happy to help you expand your barn space.
You linked to three gorgeous horses. Perhaps Unbelievable Hairdo (love that name!) would be my favorite, since I have a thing for Rabicanos (among other colors and patterns), but I can certainly see why your goal is Ice Appaloosas. Vanilla Tree Star looks like she will grow up to be a stunning horse.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2015-09-30 04:16:43Thanked by 1Alianne
