It has been brought to my attention that there is a rumor going around that there is "approval" to be sought and/or given before people can buy limited edition gene horses, and if one person says it's ok to buy or breed to their horses, you then have access to all horses like that.

This is NOT TRUE.

No one here - and I mean NO ONE - myself and Ammit included - speak for any players other than ourselves.

If Bob says you can buy/breed to his horse, don't be going to John and saying "Bob said I'm in and can buy/breed your horses now". That is NOT how it works. If Bob gives you access to his horses, you have access to Bob's horses. That's it. That's all. What Bob does or says has NO impact on what anyone else will so or do.

Bob can only give you approval for Bob's horses. Not John's. John may watch how you handle what you buy from Bob, and make decisions based on if you're respectful to whatever agreements you had with Bob, but it's still John's decision as to what happens with John's horses.

If John sees you buy from Bob and Bill and Tom and he likes how you conduct yourself overall, then yes, he's more likely to deal with you. That doesn't mean he has to. Many people here will keep expensive lines to themselves because overbred lines lose value fast...and that is ok. No one has to share, ever, if they don't want to. There are a few genes in the game that are only in one person's barn. Those people paid a lot of money for those genes, they can hoard them if they want.

When it comes to limited edition genes, you can buy whatever you want from Ammit when she puts it up for sale, no one's permission is needed other than Ammit's.

If someone puts a horse up public breeding, you may use it (assuming they don't have you blocked), no extra permissions are needed.

If a horse is up for sale on the public sales board or in an auction, you may buy it (assuming they don't have you blocked), no extra permissions are needed.

(As a footnote, yes, sometimes horses are sold accidently, and yes, people may message you asking to buy their horse back. We all make mistakes, and it's nice of people to help each other out when that happens. But that's a different story.)

If someone doesn't want to sell you a horse or a breeding, they don't have to. No matter who else does sell you a horse or a breeding. John will not be under any obligation to do business with someone just because Bob did.

I don't really know -or care - how this got started, but it stops now. There's no one you have to kowtow to, there's no one you have to grovel to, there's no one who's permission you need to buy or breed horses, other than the people who own the horses you are trying to buy and/or breed to.

There is exactly one "big shot" in this game, and she goes by the name of Ammit. No body else. She makes the rules. No body else. I'm just her enforcer.

And that's what I'm doing now. This is causing a lot of bad blood between players and it won't be tolerated.

Do not be going to John and telling him "Bob said I could"...John doesn't care what Bob said you could do. (And that's very likely to get John upset with Bob, which leads to more work for ME because now I have a conflict to help resolve between those two...and that also gets me annoyed with the person who caused that conflict)

Do not be telling people that you can give permission for them to play with someone else's horses. You only have rights to give permission for people to play with your own horses.

Do not go to Bob with the idea that he's going be your "in" with John. If you want to deal with John, deal with him yourself, not through a third party.

This is grade-school level drama that won't be tolerated in this game.

And, to be clear, I wouldn't make a post like this if I'd received one complaint. If I get one complaint with a one-time problem, I deal with it one-on-one. This post is the result of a *slew* of complaints involving more and more people every day. There are way too many people involved in this on both sides of this equation for me to do anything other than put out a blast notice.

I don't want apologies, I don't want excuses, I don't want explanations. I just want it to stop...preferably before I start swinging the ban hammer because I'm not about to let a few rumormongers rip up this game, this forum, or the FB group. All of which I can ban people from. All of which I *have* banned people from.

And no, I won't give any other warnings. This is it. If you have a question, feel free to PM me, I don't mind questions. But please don't send me the explanations or excuses. The "why" does not matter to me.
