I was super excited to see KP up again in the Roving Gene Sale (RGS) as I have one horse I think I want to mod! But first I have a question.

I have a 2G colt, 2yo, unbred, who is het KP (sire was hom, mare had none). Would this colt be eligible to use the RGS to make hom KP??

I was not sure if only foundations could use the RGS, or if I could mod this colt for KP since he inherited it from his parents, but was not hom.

You can’t make a Lined horse hom via the roving gene sale. You could add it in from the gmt lab but only the fathers side that had KP. If the father was hom kp he’s already het though.

OK, yeah my other plan was to GM him but it will be forever before I can afford the 5 GMTs needed.

If the colt is currently het KP (again, stud was hom, mare had none) can I not make him hom via GM?

I guess I have a lot to learn lol

No, he can't be made homozygous with GMTs. You can only GMT something he could have inherited from his sire or dam.

Thanks @Blu that was a better way of phrasing it lol I’m tired. @FTF I’m pretty sure I have some 2G Het KP Mares I could part with if you’re interested :)

Hmmm good to know. Nikkel if you're willing to sell some 2g het mares I could cross him with I would be super appreciative! And in the meantime maybe I will need to consider starting a foundy KP line ;)

This is less convenient but I do like how realistic these limitations on GMing are. I can get behind that.

Of course :) I have a bunch of hom KP foundies too I can do straws from. I’ll check when everything gets sorted out with the game lol

I got on mine long enough to catch one of my snowflake fillies aged up...and it went down again :))

Also, just so you know, when GMT'ing lined horses, it only costs 1 token per gene :) So if you have a colt/filly that missed KP from the sire/dam, you can GMT it on for just 1 token, not 5 :)
