I'm sorry, but dapples don't make that mare worth 10K. She is just an ordinary foundation from a common herd helper that will paper yellow. You can get dapples on any homozygous sooty chestnut by re-rolling the image (I just tried it and got a horse that was originally without dapples to have them with 5 tries.) The Foundation Rescue has 3 pages of gene tested homozygous sooty chestnut mares, some of them with dapples like this mare, and probably lots more that aren't gene tested for sale for 2500. Dapples are lovely, but I wouldn't want a new player to pay so much thinking they were the result of a valuable or hidden gene rather than a random result of the image generator for a common gene.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

Oh okay. I thought dappling was uncommon. I didn't know you only had reroll the image to get dapples. This is the second time I've gotten told that my pricing was wrong. :( Sorry about that y'all.
I also would like to ask that if my or any other new person's pricings are wrong to please kindly let us know. Going on a long rant on how wrong I am kinda upsets me. :( I'm still a newbie and don't know know everything about this game like all the old players. I'm going to be nervous about posting any more horses for sale. On the other games I play no one talks to others about their pricing in this way.
Is there some kind of guide for pricing and what colors are undesirable? That would be so helpful.Post edited by Flutterbelle at 2019-05-05 08:03:40 -
Honestly, what’s desirable is kind of a trend. People seem to be into liver pretty hard core now but it used to be KP and Snowflake is always popular, but it hasn’t come out in a while. Gucci genes fetch higher prices, same with even breeding. It’s all going to be personal preference and depend on what a particular person is breeding for. I’ve been playing for a while and I still feel like I don’t know pricing at all lol. One thing you can do for a horse you’d like to sell is to post them on the forum and let people make offers so you get an idea of what a horse like that is worth in the current market. It’s ok to be new :) and most of us learn something new every season. I picked her up btw.Thanked by 1Heartwood

It is definitely tricky to get the hang of pricing at first, but generally I'd say for foundations from common herd helpers (Rank 1 - 4) they would need to have a high number of points or have rare genes (such as DP livers/chocolate palominos or snowflake carriers) to sell for anything other than create price 2.5k + testing price. Sometimes you can get more for Rank 5 Exceptional Producers/Exceptionally Perfects, etc.
Most Rank Specials go for around 10k - 25k unless they are special event only (such as Freaky Fridays or the recent King's Ransoms) This link is really helpful for understanding herd helper rarity: http://www.huntandjump.com/herdhelpers.php
Again, if the Rank Special has unusual genes they would sell for potentially much more. It may be a good idea to search for what other horses from what herd helper you are using sell for by entering the herd helper name like 'homozygous sooty' into the tattoo field of the search and checking the prices of any that are for sale.
Hope this was helpful :) I'm not sure if my prices are 100% accurate, but this is what I would be willing to pay in most circumstances, and in my experience with trying to sell, the prices have been in a similar range.

Sure thing! I'm glad Nikkel posted about lined horses because I'm still totally lost when it comes to that :)) There's definitely a learning curve.ID: 247225
