Snowflake?
  • Looking at this mother and daughter it looks to me like they have snowflake but I can't register the mom in the snowflake breeders club so now I'm wondering if It's something else I'm seeing? I can't try to register daughter yet thanks to no funds from breeding lol only other thing i thought was that maybe its roan I'm seeing not snowflake? but roan doesn't show in the mothers color label.

  • I think it's extraordinarily rare for foundations (if it's possible at all, I'm not sure) to be created hom snowflake. These pretty ladies are definitely just showing varnish (which all apps have, it just appears at different ages) :)

  • That is "just" regular varnishing. (But beautiful!)

  • Thanks I figured it was a gene or whatnot that I wasn't thinking of since if they had snowflake I would have been able to register them in the club
  • I think that there have been lots of people who were surprised to find newly created horses that carry snowflake. Since its not a single gene, it can be hidden on lots of horses without anyone knowing unless they HAPPEN to be bred to another horse with snowflake. So, essentially, it might be more common in new creates than you think it is, its just really hard to find out, and some people don't even TRY to find out!
