Why are horses being sold when off market?

My better horses are being sold even though they have been taken off the market in the control panel! I just started playing this game, and I zero out the for sale slot, but when I revisit them they're back on the market. Help me I don't understand this!

Unless you see a "$" to the far right of their name when looking in your barns, or "[X Horse] is for sale for $[$$$]" under the horse's Public Notes section on their page, the horse isnt for sale. A number will auto generate in the sale field in the Control Panel ($2500 aka the recommended sale price of a new create) but unless you see those other two things the horse isnt for sale.
