Maybe not the correct wording, but I don’t know what do. My life has changed and the new one month game year I just don’t have time for. I have so many nice horses, so many nice frozen eggs and straws and a couple younger special horses who I GMTd for the hell of it that I feel I’m just wasting. I have a huge barn, which you have no idea the time and effort i spent building, because at that time I needed that distraction in my life. Right now in my life, I don’t know if i need to continue the game. I have a premium membership, which I completely don’t mind the cost of, but I’m not using it the way I should.
I breed for snowflake, satin, kitm, but I’m too busy to finish low through with anything other than 3rd gen. I have Narce which I paid for but haven’t followed through with.
I don’t have the time to give away every single horse I have to every deserving player. -
Ouch :( you have so many pretty babies too :) is there any way that you can have one of us “tend” to them? I have no idea how that would work lol but it would be awesome if someone with more time could take care of the mundane stuff and you could still log in when you wanted and play and whatnot
*edit: I reread the rules and I’m aware that we can’t tend to them for you lol so I agree with the other guys in saying that downsizing a bit at a time makes the most sense :)Post edited by Nikkel666 at 2019-05-19 00:23:28 -
I think downsizing is a reasonable option. Save tthe horses that have the most important genes or have the most investment involved. Keep show ponies to earn you money when you can't sign on. Don't feel bad about missing a breeding season either. Consider it a vaction lol.Thanked by 1ConfluenceStable

It is easy to get overwhelmed with this game! I haven’t been playing long and I can see that. It’s so easy to accumulate crazy numbers of horses!
Downsizing a little at a time when you have the time could be a great option! It would be sad to loose you.
Although, if you do go, there is a stallion I sold you that was my first GMT project who i wouldn’t mind having back.... If mentioning him isn’t rude. X_X But I hope you stay and get use him! -
I agree with Humboldt. Downsizing may be the way to go. Do a hard mass cull when you have good down time in RL and only keep those horses that are most important to you intact. I did this and went from 700/800 breedable mares in my pastures to somewhere around 200/300 and a ton of my pastures laid empty for a couple seasons. I still have several empty pastures and a few pastures with less than 10 mares in them. And don't feel bad about missing a season, or not getting to every foal during each season. If you still enjoy the game, then keep playing whenever you can find the time to jump on for a little while :) Your horses will be there waiting. I know it's probably frustrating because of the real money that you've spent but just let it play its course. Remember that Ammit designed this game for busy adults who can't be on 24/7. The change to a one month breeding season has been a hard hit on the larger stables but it was a necessary evil to get this server more active. So all in all, just play when you can and focus on the horses most important to you, the ones that have EXACTLY what you want :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

I feel ya sooo bad. I have hardly bred anything the last 3(?) seasons. I need to downsize on both servers, and I have spendt the last two trying to get through my horses on server 2. Still haven't had the chance to start here. I just have so many pretties, and I just love them all so much. lolID 195859

Thanks everyone for your responses. Paradox, I’ll gladly give you your stud back. I’m still pondering what else I can do.

Can you maybe open your barns, and take offers? Not saying accept them all, but that may help narrow it down a bit without you having to put a lot of effort into it.Post edited by bluchrystals at 2019-05-19 07:20:39

I’m going to offer a lot of my horses publicly for sale, second generations mostly. Most are unnamed you can just search by age, and I believe most are fully tested. The thing is, I don’t have the time or energy to put them in my chat, so if you send the link on here to the horse, I’ll click it and put it up for sale publically, and hopefully people will respect that. Does that sound fair? Any named horses and foundations i probably want. Also, maybe keep it to like 5 at a time so I don’t get overwhelmed? Lol it sounds pathetic but I really don’t hav a ton of time. Some I might not want to part with but it’s worth a try. I have a lot of 2nd gen who are het for a lot of special genes, so be sure to look at them. Also you can search by my special foundation stallions and look at their offspring. I don’t mind hoarding horses for the income, I just don’t want the really nice ones to get wasted.

Ha Blu, you beat me too it! All I ask is you respect the lines.

Ok. Let's see if we can get this ball rolling. I have a feeling these may be a little low, but I'm not real good at pricing things, especially if I want them :D

Veetiepony, this is the one.
Paradox Bright
If you ever reach a point where you’re playing a lot again and you want to use him, just let me know and I can either give him to again or send straws. :) I appreciate it! -

I'd be interested in these two fellows depending on how much you'd like for them?

Veetie, I know exactly how you're feeling! I've spent so many real life years building up my stable to the current size, all with a basic upgrade, but with the change the seasons are just too short to breed them all. I've tried to downsize too, it helped a bit, but not nearly enough.
I'm considering starting over my lines all together, focussing just on a few genes (all in 1 line or max 2 lines) instead of a lot of different genes and lines. But on the other hand, I also really like all those different lines I have and breeding them together, seeing all those special and unexpected combinations.
My plan for now is to just play a bit here and there, breed a bit, and just let it sink down what I really want to do to keep the game playable for me, and most importanly not feeling too bad about missing some breedings. I have some mares tattoo'd with a 'must breed' tattoo if they're really special or HQ so I don't forget them, and I always look at my 17yrs to breed, but otherwise it is mostly just breeding whatever I feel like.
As others said, downsizing is the best way to go. It can take a lot of time, but it really helps to feel less overwhelmed and enjoy the game more again.
Being strict about your breedings and maybe 'limiting' yourself in the amount of new horses you allow yourself to create and/or to breed might also be helpful to stop the exponential growth, as well as figuring out what you really want (however I still have not managed to do this :'))
Anyway, goodluck with the downsizing and figuring it out, I'll follow this thread for more tips :)HJ1 160524

I downsized mostly, also combined two separate lines into one and downsized that. With the new auction I was able to let some of my older ones go. I'm not breeding as many foundations and mostly breeding to fill the show barns for now. By that I mean that my mares are not getting the full pasture bonus so alot isn't getting past Deloris ... if they show points as foals I keep them ... if not I am now auctioning them off.
Cycling through month by month ... one month mostly foundations, next Appies, next chromed (KIT) and so forth. Got to keep that show barn filled to the max lol -
I have had times like this myself. Best advice is to keep up an automatic show string. Log in maybe once a week or so to not hit the money cap. This way when you find your way back, you have funds at the least. I once let my account sit on what used to be a level 3 upgrade for a year and a half. I have none of the lines that I had back then anymore, but I still have some of what I had worked to get. Lately I am back in a bit of a no time slump, so I only log on to not hit the cap, see my free HH rolls that day, and do pasture breeding if it's that time of month. Today I had a bit more time, so here I am.

I am right there with several of you. I have loved playing this game since Jan 2010. I could not even add up the money I have spent on special genes, boosting, gmting. When the showing changed with the added daily bonus, I spent so much time and hbs getting my daily bonus up to over 1.5 million which I was very proud of. The change in the seasons to monthly just is not working for me either. My bonus has gone from the 1.5 million down to 275,494. I know it was easier to have the 2 games working month to month but I have lost interest in the game, which I never would have thought would happen. I was going to downsize but with all my best horses passing away, my stable is down by probably ten thousand horses. I cancelled my premium upgrade and bought 4 years of level 4. I am going to keep trying but I just don't know. This community is awesome and I am still going to be checking in :) Sorry veetiepony1, did not mean to hijack your post :)Post edited by Pintlala Farm at 2019-05-21 17:49:12
