  • These are some gorgeous boys! I’d like to offer you a bit of advice on your stud fees, I hope that’s OK. Since these are foundation studs, I could create one of my own for 2500 hbs, then color (100) and PT test (500) and breed to a mare in my pasture (500) for a total of 3100 hbs, and have the stud to show or breed again later, or sell. In addition to the 3000 hbs stud fee for these boys, there is an additional 1000 hbs in vet bills, already bringing the cost of this foal to 4000 hbs, and no access to the stud for future use.

Higher stud fees are sometimes charged for foundation studs with rare (limited or fantasy genes) or rank specials because they are hard to find.

Someone please chime in if you see a different perspective here, I am just wanting to help the best I can.

  • If you like, @CutterRidge, I would be happy to buy some straws from CR Esther for 1500 each, and since making straws cost 500 each, you would make a profit of 1000 for each straw. I would be happy to buy 10 from you :)
