How do You sort Barns
-
How you some of you other players sort your show barns? For a while I was going by PT.
-
I don't, I just throw all my gelding/spays in a mondo barn and let them go to work. :)HJ1: 83716 / HJ2: 120Thanked by 1Abbey98

All of my geldings and spays are thrown together in show barns. My lined mares are sorted into barns by generation, my foundation mares are sorted into barns by era and my stallions are intermixed into stallion barns.Imation Stud ID# 2609

What benefit would there be to sorting your show horses? I have my altered yearlings currently sitting in a barn with the autoshowing turned off, but they'll just be tossed in with the rest after the new year starts.Go boldly, where no App has gone before!Thanked by 1Abbey98

There really is no added value in sorting them, in my opinion. I practice "breed 'em and leave 'em." :P
Some people, before the show system conversion, put all of their 8W horses into their own barn. They would then manually show them because the entry fee was very high, but even this really has no added value any longer.Imation Stud ID# 2609

One barn for all my stallions.
One barn for my lined mares, their pedigree dates back to pre-Eras.
Bunch of barns (unsorted) for my spay/geld show ponies.
Bunch of barns (unsorted) for my young mares. I try to throw them into pastures as soon as possible to breed them, and they will stay there until I yumm or spay them.
Two barns just for auctioning, named !! Auction so that they show up first in the barn list lol.
I used to sort by generation or age, but it's just not worth my time anymore.Bluegrass #143376 * Specializing in Iced Axiom (ExPro Cobs) and Iced Phantoms (PF Riding Ponies)

I sort them into groups of stallions, lined mares, foundations mares, and spays/geldings, and then sort those groups by age and PT. The age and PT thing just helps me know which ones are more likely to have leveled off than others, so I know who has reached their time to go (if they didn't get a lot of points).Thanked by 1Abbey98

Yearlings are kept separate in non-showing barns. Stallions are intermingled into stallion barns and I have mares, spays & geldings all intermingled.
I sort my horses by name prefixes and tattoos.Post edited by Visions at 2015-08-11 17:14:27Thanked by 1Abbey98 -
Starting with Year 52, I throw all foals from that year into a barn of horses that age. It doesn't matter if they're stallions, mares, gelds, or spays - the whole barn shows, so they might as well all earn me points. Anything before that, I have separate barns for mares, stallions, and show horses. I also have an auction/sales barn that is still used for that purpose.
When breeding, I don't sort them based on the barn. I use the prefixes by their names (numbers only is a "special" line, Xn is exceptional, etc etc) to put the right mares in pastures with the right stallions.

I don't sort my showers. Just throw them in a "neutered barn" and let them do their thing.ID 195859
