Boosting Question
-
Question;
The FAQ guide says this:
"Sometimes a foal will pass Breeding Advice (BA) but not pass Strict Breeding Advice (SBA). If this is the case, and you have the funds available, you can Unalter the foal in the Advanced Facilities and then give it a breeding boost to see if it will pass SBA on the second try. There are no guarantees that this strategy will work, however, and it can be very expensive."
However, can you also unalter a foal and then boost it to get it to pass Breeding Advice (BA)? Or, is it safe to assume if it fails BA that it is too poor quality to breed, and boosting will not make a difference?
Thanks! -
I think the point is that BA is not so far off SBA that one or two boosts could do it. With anything that doesn't pass BA you don't know how FAR off the mark they are. If one boost is 5% and your horse is 30% below what would get him to pass BA then you would never know. If they pass BA there is a better chance of the 'mark' being within the 5-25% range.
Does that make ANY sense?

I've only boosted 1 horse ever... After unaltering him and before boosting him, I tested him against a bunch of different papered stallions so get a general idea of where his base line was... He was slightly worse than a foundation B but better than a C so I took the risk and used a 5% boost bringing him superior to his sire but worse than a 2nd gen A (since we all know that there are those few B stallions that can slip through the cracks and compare as good as an A stallion sometimes..)

But I imagine I'm just going senile and this method isn't as easy as it seems lol -
Thank you both! Confluence, that makes perfect sense.

I took advantage of the June sales to boost this guy. My first ever liver and first ever KitM!! I had to try lol
1% didnt do it, I might see if I can save up and try just one more time and then give up. More realistically I will probably make this guy my fanciest show horse ever lol and re-try the same breeding pair next season after the mare sat in the pasture longer. -
I would wait until he’s breeding age to see if you breed a better replacement without needing to spend that much moneyBreeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genesThanked by 1RoseRedFarm
