Did anyone ever get a *gold mare in the Ultimate Breeding Challenge?

I think Ammit reworked the papering system before anyone reached that goal, and the contest faded into the background.
ETA: My daughter, who was competing in it, says that she remembers that somebody did reach the goal.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2015-09-05 16:50:54 -
We just went back and checked to see.
LookingGlass reached the goal in November of 2013.
And Robert07 got a star stallion from UBC lines in July of 2013. -
What was the Ultimate Breeding Club, if you don't mind me asking?
ID 211323 -
The Ultimate Breeding Contest started when B and A papered stallions were considered not worth breeding to, and foundation *Star stallions were common, before Ammit revamped the papering system for both mares and stallions. The challenge was to become the first person to breed a *Gold papered mare starting with B papered foundation stallions. All the starting stallions had to be registered in the club in order for their lines to be considered.

I actually still have the mare: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2331477
Like SandyCreek said, the point of the challenge was to start with the absolute worst quality you could get away with and breed up to the best quality you could get. Back then, Bs were reeeeally bad. She's still a good model for (fairly inbred) line progression though.
