Adding 2 stallions to a pasture
  • After I've added 2 stallions to my pasture and breeding opens in the pasture (the 7th) would both be bred to the mares I have in the pasture? Is it random as to which stallion is bred to which mare?
For example, I have 4 mares in one pasture and 2 stallions in the other. All breeding age. Would it be random as to which stud goes to which mare?
I've NEVER used pastures to breed so I'm very new to the concept :)

    Thanks everyone <3

  • Yes it is random. This past season I put 2 studs in one pasture and one guy bred more mares than the other

  • One trick I've used if I primarily want one stallion to breed is to put only one stallion in and breed the pasture. He will breed with random mares until he reaches his season cap. Then you can add in your other stallion, and he will cover everyone else. You will only get one Best in Pasture e-mail though, regardless of how many pastures you breed or how many times you breed them.

  • Regarding ChateauAlbere's plan, it's a good one if you're more interested in one of the stallions producing offspring. If you want foals from both, remember that since each stallion can live cover up to 50 mares in a season, unless you have more than 50 mares in the pasture, the first stallion in will breed them all.
