I like doing my nails as encouragement to try to stop biting my nails/picking the skin off around my nails (both terrible habits). Excuse the messy clean up, don't have much time to do it well XD. Hope the picture works, never posted a picture before.ID 213454

The Season of Fall
A poem by Visions
Cool nights, an autumn breeze,
Candy apples if you please.
Doe eyed Jerseys at the fair,
carnival rides, if you dare.
It’s the season of ticks.
They’re for the pits.
But bonfires so bright,
break up the night.
Spiced cider and donuts so yummy…
The corn maze is freaky, not funny.
Pumpkin Spice flavor seems to abound,
as do the fox and hounds.
Harvest festivals celebrate
the bounty of the earth, to date.
Darkness comes early as the clocks roll back.
Daylight Savings Time is a pain in the neck.
The chili and chowder are simmering away,
“Is anyone hungry?” you say.
Come on over and grab a bowl.
The comfort food of fall is for all.

Thank you! It's so fun doing them for the seasons and holidays :DID 213454

To me, autumn is about fall fairs, hunters, and hounds

It will be 3 years ago this November that We lost mom to cancer. So, for me fall is all about looking back on the previous year and being thankful for things that are most important to me which is my friends and family. Not only am I thankful for everyone's successes, achievements and whatnot, but I am also thankful for the family and friends that are still with us.
This photo has always been a favorite of mine. I guess it's just the simple sweetness of it. It also represents all that I hold dear - friends and family.Post edited by CravenHillEstate at 2015-09-20 13:47:48Craven Hill - 86081

The Harvest Holiday
by CLynnRose
The day comes to open the ripe painted ears,
peel back the bright wrappers to see what appears.
The colors pop out and glow in the light,
the evening sun making each seed a delight.
Round ribs, orange and white, rise up through the leaves,
soon frost will reveal what the vines have achieved.
Gather them up and roll them away,
to set by the hearth, golden fruitful display.
The crackle of wood brings new life to the stove,
upon it steams ciders and soups, what a trove!
Canners whistle their songs, fill the air with their tunes,
then give colorful gifts, each like vibrant balloons.
Trees deck themselves out all in warm red and gold,
the sky puts on its shows, matching colors so bold.
The horses all watch as the haystack grows tall,
Their coats become plush for the weather of fall.
Hurry to save the last fruits from the frost,
wrap up those still green so that none will be lost.
Pack away all the bulbs and bed down the soil,
let it sleep for the winter and rest from its toil.
Taste the snow in the air, smell the leaves on the ground,
hear the music and laughter that frolics abound.
Flocks circle the sky just to shout their goodbye,
they say time to go home, for soon snow will fly. -
To me, Autumn is 3 more months of Summer.

I wrote a song (sorry, no background music as I can't play any instruments! So it's acapella hehe).
When I was little, my dad used to work away a lot and was usually gone through most of Autumn. I'd miss him quite badly, and when I'd speak to him on the phone he'd tell me to count the leaves on the tree in our backyard - he said he'd be home before all the leaves dropped. Don't know how he knew, but he was! So this is about that :)

My husband and I purchased our first home the week after Thanksgiving last year. Because of the repairs needed (and still needed - lol) we didn't move in until late January, so this is our first Fall in our new home! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to create some Fall decor. A new wreath, some flower arrangements for the table and faux leave bowls. I also plan to fill the bowl on the table with some small acorns and pine cones (maybe after Halloween :))Thanked by 1Cutthroat Basin

Reflections Of Fall
What is fall but a time to reflect
A time to reflect on the memories gathered
The memories gathered in a summer of fun
A summer of fun spent giggling with the kids
Giggling with the kids as you build sandcastles
Building sandcastles while you build memories
What is fall but a time to build memories
A time to build huge roaring bonfires
Huge roaring bonfires to roast gooey s'mores
Gooey s'mores and roasting marshmallows
Roasting marshmallows are a camping tradition
Camping tradition that are made in the crisp cool air
What is fall but a gateway to crisp cool air
Crisp cool air with that hint of Frost nipping at your nose
Frost nipping at your nose as you wait for that first snowflake
That first snowflake twirling through the air
Through the air you soar on your sled
Your sled that cuts through the snow
Snow that has fallen as fall gave into winter's fury
Winter's fury giving you time to reflect
Time to reflect on what fall means to you
