Can't run an auction on a horse that hasn't been created. You can either sell the create(size, gender, age) for a straight price or offer a horse of your choice for a set price.

There has been a few posts about it. The reasons it's not allowed are because the create may expire before the auction is completed or the genes may not match what the bidder had hoped for. Basically to cut down on the drama. :D The price varies depending on the horse. They normally range around 7k to 15k.
