    Shouldn’t this colt be Homozygous Mushroom and not just het?

    His mother is only het mushroom so he didn't get her copy

    His mom is not Hom Mushroom so she has a chance not passing it on to her foals. And in this case sadly, she didn't. I'd say cause dad is Hom Mushroom and mom is Het that it's a 75% chance the baby will come out Hom Mushroom. But I'm not that good at the statistics in this game so I don't really know the actual numbers.

    But yea, just bad luck she didn't pass it on. I'm sure next season will yield better results.

    It's fifty fifty chances. Dad is hom, so he's guaranteed one copy from him. But mom is het, so there's a 50% change he'll get her mushroom and a 50% chance he'll get her non-mushroom. He has to get her mushroom to be hom

    The dad can only pass on one gene to the foal. Mom has to pass on the other. If not then the foal will only be Het. How the gene's work are that the first gene comes from the dad, the second from the mom.
