Using plain create mares and Star stallions, you will probably never get an intact colt. Your mares are probably the equivalent of C papered stallions. Which is fine, nothing wrong with that! :)

To get an intact and superior colt, I recommend that you find a Perfect Foundation stallion (or equivalent - Top Notch Producer, or one sold by ranch #13) and place him in your pasture with all of your mares for breeding next game year. Placing mares in pasture ahead of time gives them a type of breeding bonus that helps them breed to the best of their ability. Be sure to check out the FAQ on breeding.

If you use a B papered foundation stallion, you will generally end up with better fillies than with a C papered foundation stallion, but the odds of getting a superior (B or A papered) colt is lower because he is of better quality than the mares.
