This guy is DP?

So I was going through my foals and came across this guy:

He has DP correct? I am just wondering where he got it from because I'm pretty sure his dad was created long before the DP was added into the game, so is his mother the carrier?
Just curious. -
Yep. It would be from the dam.Imation Stud ID# 2609

It will be much darker than you would expect for the amount of sooty it has showing in its color test results. That horse is homozygous recessive sooty, so it's dark chestnut coat is being affected by heterozygous DP (dense pheomelanin). DP is not included in the color test, but Ammit has added "Liver Chestnut" as the color name for ee horses with dominant sooty and DP.
Here is a liver chestnut horse that is homozygous dominant sooty and heterozygous DP. He is also heterozygous dominant Pangare, and shows the lightened patches characteristic of that gene.

This horse is homozygous dominant sooty and homozygous DP. Heterozygous dominant Pangare is also present.

This horse is heterozygous dominant sooty and probably homozygous DP, since his dam is pretty dark for having recessive sooty.
This horse is homozygous dominant sooty and homozygous DP with no dominant pangare.
