Hey! Ok so I know its been a while but this is my Yule Log boy now! and I have removed the White 1 from him(keeped the W2) and added a silver & two Duns, also upped his white factor to light! Now I am not sure if he is really done or not, don't want to miss adding something to him! I think I got it to where he would make some nice silver blacks or grullos but wasn't a 100% sure! Was thinking about adding a cream maybe or if I should leave the sooty on or take them off, though hes pretty white all ready even with both sooty! I just don't know how he would look then so any suggestions would be great! Thank you!

Ooh, I love seeing Yule Logs! I really like the idea of silver so that he could produce some pretty silver blacks and really max those dapples. I think with the gray, there's not a whole lot that you could do that would change the appearance of the base, its more about what you want his foals to look like! I love dun and grullos personally, so that would probably be my choice, but ultimately its what you want that matters.

You are aware that as a gray he is going to end up completely white in a few months, right? Not that there is anything wrong with that, it is how the gene works in real life, but any other genes a gray has are pretty much overridden by the gray. I have a small line of red based grays on my Forest server account, and it can be fun to watch the progression. The homozygous grays, appear to gray out faster, sometimes being completely white by age 7, while the heterozygous greys still show some dapples into their teens.

Use the search to find out what he’d look like by inputting his genetics and changing the genes you are thinking about changing until the horses show up the way you really like.

Grays turn white? I didn't know that, thanks LakeOndowaFarm! Dapples sound great, will be keeping him Het grey!;)

I Love Duns and Grullos too! I have a few silver black mares too that maybe could be breed with him? I do like the siver and dun idea the most so far! Thank you for your imput Peachtree!

I got rid of the gray on mine. Which turns them black, then I got rid of both kit genes and added roan which made him a blue roan and I added splash M

Wow, the eyes are so stunning with the dark coat! His a blue roan? I haven't seen one that dark, would have guessed him to be more black! I like the pattern on him too, is that because of the roan? I can't add splash M to mine sadly. He's a great horse!

@HorseAngel the yule log ashes are brindle :) if you reroll your horse enough, the brindle pattern will show up. He's pretty dark for a blue roan lol, I thought the roan didn't show up at first but every time I rerolled him he stayed dark. The odd colors going up his legs, his neck and face are from the splash M and the blue eyes you can get from adding any type of splash. If i reroll him the splash M is more pronounced, but I like this look on him.

Oh! I forgot about the brindle on them! I agree with you on his look, it kinda makes me think about black tigers with the brindle showing, lol!

Do you get it to show by rerolling them? The pattern doesn't show on mine.

Thank you everyone! I think I have a plan for him now, I will post him here again for everyone and to see what you all think of him! Still need one or two more GMT's before I can make all the changes I want to him so it may take awhile! Hopefully I can soon!

Yes, when paired with black/grullo mares, or chestnut (ee aa) mares, he will produce grullo foals :)
