Pricing?
-
I'm thinking of scrapping my old breeding project in favor of a new, better-organized one, and have no idea how to price the horses I want to sell. Many of them have a considerable amount of points, and quite a few carry genes like KP and satin.
How do you guys price your horses? Is there a method you use to determine one's value? -

You search for similar horses on the sales board, and determine the price from what you find there, and/or you can do a forum auction :)Thanked by 1urkidnme

Also for me there's an extra factor in how much sentimental value the horse has for me. If I want it to go to someone who will use it well because its from a line I put a lot of work into, I will price those a lot higher (but open to negotiation) because if the horse won't be used, I'd prefer to keep for myself as a show pony :)
(But I'm very tight with my lines) I agree with everyone else in that I usually look around on the forum to seeID: 247225

I usually search around, on horses with a lot of value (Either to me or just because of genes) I'll try a forum auction first and then advertise the others for sale.
It also depends on papers, other genes, age, points, and sometimes PT scores. Some people have strict breeding rules so you just have to find the people who are going to work with what you've already produced!
