I don't know if I'll actually get the horse and hbs though, because the email linked to this game is inactive.

Sorry, but that sounds a lot like a phishing thing to me.

Hopefully it isn't, but it seems really suspicious to me. Why is it a popup when nothing else like that on this site is? If it's legit, why didn't Ammit or Confluence say anything about it? Why would we need a newsletter when we already have the news panel on the site, the forum, and the facebook groups?

In-game pop-ups don’t seem likely to be phishing to me, but better safe than sorry until confirmed these days.

Phishing threats aren't going to happen with an in-game newsletter popups. Phishing has to deal with stealing banking or health information. You will see it as something asking for you to enter your info. All this asks for is if you want to get the newsletter.

I had one instance where the button did not make the pop up go away but then it did when I tested it later. The button works it just doesn't make the popup go away properly on click. Refreshing the page clears it. We will do more testing tomorrow.

Newer accounts won't have the popup at all. You already got to opt into the newsletter when you joined, we just haven't sent one yet.

If you are already in the system you won't get a pop-up.
