Wanted some input from everyone else :) if you have two superior to Sire colts that basically fit all your criteria, how do you decide which one will be your top breeder to use in pasture, straws, on more Mares, etc....? Do you breed both equally and see which one produces better? I need help! Haha

Have you tested them against each other? Does one have a better PT score?

This is usually where benchmark stallions come in. If they compare about as good as each other than I'd compare them to the benchmark. If they again compare about as good as the benchmark or if they both compare worse then I'd narrow it down to whichever fits the criteria EXACTLY. Exact colour, exact bone density, exact height, etc. If you've got two identical colts then probably move on to see whichever produces better.

I completely forgot I could test them against each other...duh!! =)) thank you guys! I was testing them to Sire but totally forgot I could do it against each other. My mind hahaha

If they test AGA to each other, i look at consistency. If both are consistent and they both have what i'm looking for gene wise, and i have nothing else to cull by, i would breed one if them one season and the other one the next season and then compare AFPT scores. That's what i am doing on server two with my higher gen Mushrooms since i have so many boys!

I’ve been narrowing down my breeding goals genetically so both would have to be EE aa DD then I typically look at their Kit genes or axiom, did they inherit one or 2 copies. Is one homo KP or have kit genes I prefer over the others.

Then if they’re both the same I’ll snip the lower PT just because lol
