DP palomino
-
Having a massive brain ouch right now so feel free to tell me I'm crazy lol.
This filly is hm DP. Sire is liver chestnut (hm DP het sooty) dam is a Cherry Drop (hm DP no sooty). So she'll only be palomino unless she has a copy of sooty to boot too, right?

Like livers, pallies need three darkening genes to be chocolate. Since she didn't get her sire's sooty, she's only got two (the homozygous DP) and is not chocolate and is just palomino, yes, if that's what you're asking.Spiderweb Stables

her sire is only het DP and het Sty
Karat N
this is a Homo DP and Hom Sty.
GF2 Type Of Giving
this is Het DP and homo Sty. Since mom has no sty she only has a 25% chance of inheriting Sty from her sire since hes only Heterozygous. And momma is Buckskin which is bay with one crème gene, and since daddy is chestnut the filly got daddys ee and moms one crème gene to be palomino.

The sire is hom DP. He has to be, because he's het sooty and still a liver. He has to have three alleles, between sooty and DP, and since only one is a sooty the other two must be DP.
Since he has one sooty and one non-sooty, his foals have a fifty fifty chance of getting it from him. The dam's genes do not affect what the sire passes on.Post edited by Taliesin at 2019-10-10 18:27:21Spiderweb Stables
