I am not a horse owner. They age deer by teeth I would assume it's the same for horses. In real life. Not sure if you are talking about real life or the game. The horses on the game age every 2 months or so.

The game..lol. I just thought I remembered something you could buy with IVs a long time ago to make a horse a year older. I could be remembering wrong though..it would him been a few RL years ago in game.

I don't remember that ever being a thing. As close as I recall was the ability to choose your horse's age in the University, (back when there was a University) much like you can when you create.
