I think I remember seeing a 10.9 PT score on a 2G before, but I can't remember who had the foal. But I'm positive 10.4 is not the max, I have seen higher.

There isn't a 'max' for PT at any level. I think you probably just got EXTREMELY lucky!

There's a cap for PT scores, I think right now it is 14.

I've had a look at my 2nd gen horses. This is what I have so far for intact horses.

I probably did have mares that had higher PT scores, but they didn't test sup to their dams and got auctioned off or yummed.

I don't tend to keep 2nd gen rejects because there's so many of them, and I usually breed the higher generations first, and those tend to fill up available space for showstock first.

What if you start from regular foundations instead of ExPro?

@SherwoodStables that last boy is exactly the kind I am interested in, since he comes from just regular foundations. 10.5 The highest PT I have seen, thanks for sharing him.

On the higher end, there is a cap on breeding ability, but not on PT. But being that the breeding cap is maybe say the equivalent of a 14PT, then even with boosting as far as we can past the cap, we aren't going to see much above 15PT

I've cloned a exceptional foundation, and the clone had a PT of 10.7
