My horse changed color and I don't know why?
-
My gelding did look mostly white like the photo below; (can't figure out how to post a screen shot) and now he looks like the 2nd photo. I'm confused as to why? All I did was refresh the page after naming him.

Did you reroll his portrait by accident?
-
No. Just refreshed the page when I changed his name.
-
I had a sabino mare do that too, I was a bit confused. It could've just been their picture updating, usually it happens with appaloosas since sometimes they varnish and go white, maybe sabino changes too
-
Ammit has changed the way frame works. It is now more like real life frame. All your pictures will stay the same until you open the page, or refresh, that's what 'cues' the game to put in the new artwork.

That horse doesn’t have the frame gene thoughLicensed for Onyx, Watercolor, Plaid, Mushroom, Splash M, Phantom Autumn, Ice 4, Ice 16, and Chinchilla - ID: 256300

OK, doesn't appalossa change, too?

It does, but he got less white. Appies varnish out and get more whiteSpiderweb Stables

Exactly why I was confused too, it happened on my sabinos and one of my kitM horses too
-
Yeh I got that on some of my sabinos too, I was quite happy though lol!
-
So its something to do with his sabino then? Is it a bug or just an update?
-
@Wingedeagle My guess is an update :)
@Kintara me too! Instead of being mostly white I can see their color now! -
Bit of both I think Wingedeagle, the white pattern expressions have been updated but there is still a few things not working properly. Like tobiano is now not always showing on some of the frame sabino horsesPost edited by Kintara at 2019-10-26 13:31:03

I do not believe this is actually true.
I do not know if this is a bug or not or why it changed. Possible issue with w20 not bosting as it should be.Post edited by Ammit at 2019-10-27 04:12:12Need to contact me? Read this first.

@Ammit it happened again with this one. Old picture

And a third. This old girl's change was less dramatic as she didn't have a ton of white to begin with; but still noticeable.

@Ammit, I just refreshed the image on one of my all white sb1 + w20 mares and she now has less white, too.
PT Robin
ETA I checked another with lower white factor (the above is medium, this one is light)
Shadows And Frost
She is also no longer mostly white and expresses less white than the above.
Thought it might be helpful :)Post edited by paradoxphoenix at 2019-10-27 09:06:39 -
This mare is w20 + sb1. She was not all white but had a little more white than she shows now. (She had a belly spot)
Alpinian China DP -
W20 only doesn’t seem affected.
This w20 + Splash has shorter socks and a smaller blaze now

ETA
W20 + Frame is still showing the same as it was right after the Frame update.Post edited by paradoxphoenix at 2019-10-27 09:14:10 -
w20 + Tobiano is also showing less white than before
Paradox Pinto
ETA
Same with W.
It’s looking like how w20 interacts with all the genes has changed and White is now less. For curiosity sake I’m trying to find one with higher white factor to see if they’ve changed.Post edited by paradoxphoenix at 2019-10-27 09:16:50 -

This amount of white on this guy didn’t really change (if anything he got more) but the way his pattern expresses did change slightly. (More colour on his head, less on his hindquarter, and his flank spot changed shape)
Bootstrap Alpha
The change seems related to how genes respond to the white factor amount now. -
OK, we probably have enough examples now, let's give Ammit a day or so to do her research. If she needs more specific information she will ask for it! Thanks everybody!

Ammit, on the tobiano. I'll have to look into it further but my Taco re-rolls don't show tobiano like I'd expect, nor do my Texas ones I added tobiano too. Admittedly many of mine are minimal white but they usually have at least a sock or two. I upped the white expression on one of them to medium but still not even a white sock
-
It's hard to really tell what is going on with a lot of them because once I re-roll they go mostly white anyway. I actually went with the combinations I have because they seemed to be the few frame ones that didn't go mostly white. But I also understand if it's a bug
-
Thanks Ammit! Seems to be fixed now as all my horses got thier white back!
