I am in no way an expert here but she doesn't look as dark as her sire and they are both chocolate pals so I would say just het DP but I could be wrong too! I know I have the same problem with some of My het DP mares and My Hom DP stud lol! Thats why I perfer for Most my foundation livers to be Hom in the first place!

I’m leaning towards heterozygous as well, but can’t find a good example I’m certain is homozygous. Here are my chocolate palomino duns (they are an offshoot of my line). Several have both heterozygous DP parents, but none that have both homozygous parents that would guarantee they have two copies, and no one looks enough darker that I feel confident they are.

Dun is one of the colors that has multiple variations. The only way to know absolutely, is to check in the GMT lab.

Dun is hard for me too because of the variations.. It is a fun surprise when they do prove they are homozygous though.

Keep in mind, she doesn’t have the S+, so she isn’t going to be as dark as dad. That being said, I am still stumped! I have a hard time judging the duns as well. I also don’t breed palominos, so that another thing throwing me off.
