Fantasy gene horses (non-closed gene) prices
-
I was wondering how much a fantasy gene mare or stallion (non-closed gene) would normally go for.
-
Which genes are you thinking of? I think it probably varies from gene to gene.
-
-
fantasy genes like his
-
i just looked at his genes and they're all color genes though so im a bit confused
-
I’m assuming that they’re around 50,000-100,000 but I have no clue
-
He has ice one, that's the fantasy gene. He probably won't go for much though, because he's not evenly bred. I couldn't give you an estimate thoughSpiderweb Stables

Thank you!
-
If both parents have ice one would the foal be evenly bred? and if they are evenly bred do they go for more then horses that aren't evenly bred?
-
What they mean by evenly bred is breeding by generation evenly foundations to foundations, 2nd generation (foal of foundation pair) bred to 2nd Gen. etc.
Renegade has foundation horses on his short pedigree but when you open the long form pedigree there are quite a few generations back to get to the first set of foundation grandparents.Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes -

This is an example of an 8th generation evenly bred stallion from my barn. All of his short pedigree is filled with horses and then if you open his long pedigree the last line on the right is completely filled in a straight lineBreeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes -
im so confused. so are you basically breeding siblings?
-
im sorry, i have no clue how this works
-
and (this is off topic) would you be interested in putting that stallion up for breeding or selling one of his future foals that carries that gene (if you don't have to purchase the gene)
-
@Bandit1119 *facepalm* Never saw the full pedigree option until you mentioned it :-<
@macie No, just any two foundation horses, or any two 3rd generation horses, or any two 7th generation horses.
Try looking at this horses's pedigree, it's very short!
https://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=8956389
As you can see his parents are both 2nd generation, his grandparents are all foundations (1st generation). And he happens not to be inbred at all, though inbreeding doesn't have any effect in this game.
It's fine not to understand it right away, this is a very complex game! -
Just want to say that even breeding is not at all something you need to do. It is simply something that is preferred by alot of people, so it will up the price. Breeding evenly makes it easier to get intact foals, and to predict the quality of the foal (wich in turn will make it easier to get intact foals from the foal when it is old enough).
Every player has their own preferences, and if you like the horse, that is what matters.ID 195859 -
You don’t have to breed siblings I just don’t have a lot of high pedigree horses so ended up breeding siblings.
Depending on your mares if you want intact offspring you may want to use a lower generation stud but I have quite a few Nexus studs of all generations.
Although this search is full of nexus horses I haven’t yet sorted through to add to my herd but if you want to look through them I may sell you one or 2 or 10

Whats the average you'll take for one nexus? and thank you and @maribo. so as far as i under stand you take two horses (with foundation parents) and breed them then your foal will be evenly bred?
-
-
I think im starting to get it! how do you open the long pedigree?
-
Nvm. Thank you guys so much
-
Send me a PM with a few horses and I will give you a deal. Money really isn’t an issue for me. The horses listed above I haven’t even looked most which is why they haven’t had their generation and gender prefix added to their ID#Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes

Ok, thank you!

FG Cosmic Lights Is this horse evenly bred? -
FG Meteor Shower Is this horse evenly bred? -
sorry, I don't know how to read long pedigrees
-
Macie, you can go to the family tab on the horse info page.
At the top you'll see a link: 'View Full Pedigree'. If you click on that you will see the full pedigree.
For Cosmic Lights this is his full pedigree: https://www.huntandjump.com/full_pedigree.php?horseid=9219474
As you scroll down, you can see the entire pedigree is filled till the outer box with no 'jumps', that menas he is evenly bred. If you count the rows, you can see he is a 7th generation horse.
This is the link for Meteor Shower: https://www.huntandjump.com/full_pedigree.php?horseid=9219473
He is also evenly bred and also a 7th generation horse.
Edited to add:
This horse for example is unevenly by 1 generation:
MS7 Creepoasis hGP GOLD
By going to her family tab and clicking on the full pedigree link you will see this: https://www.huntandjump.com/full_pedigree.php?horseid=7606897
You immidiately see a blank space in the last column. Scrolling down it get's filled in. This shows that she is uneven by one generation. (I also name my horses per generation so you can see she is from a cross of a 6th gen stud and a 7th gen mare)
This is another uneven bred mare:
MS KissingDaBluesGby hGPS
If you go to her family tab and click on the full pedigree link (resulting in this page: https://www.huntandjump.com/full_pedigree.php?horseid=8186893) at first glance you see no 'blanks' in the column. But if you scroll all the way down you see 2 blank colums, so she is more uneven.
This guy is very uneven:
MS Kings Desire GP L
He also has a very long pedigree which takes a loong time to load, with many visible blanks. So he is very uneven. This is very common though for high PT horses, as they are often from old lines and as it takes some time to get to that PT score by even breeding (it is a lot quicker to breed to some high PT studs already available).
I hope this explanation helped a bit to help you read long pedigrees! Let me know if you have any more questions!Post edited by MasterStablesMS at 2019-12-17 07:55:31HJ1 160524

Ok, so if the whole row to the right is completely filled they're evenly bred?
-
@macie yep that is the rule of the thumb. However it is important you scroll all the way down and all the way to the right of the pedigree.
I did edit my post a few times to provide some more examples which will show you that scrolling to see the entire pedigree is important (to not make the wrong conclusions).HJ1 160524

thank you!

evenly bred horses sell for more than non-evenly bred horses correct?
-
As Maribo already said above, breeding evenly or not is your own choice, you can play this game however you want! However, more people prefer to breed evenly so therefore even bred horses are often sold quicker or for more.
However, my high PT horses (both show horses and intact) often sell for a lot more than my 2/3/4th gen even bred horses (as everyone likes a good show pony or a horse that can produce those).
So sometimes uneven sells for more. But it all depends on preferences.
For me personally I keep even breeding till the 6th/7th gen or something, after that it doesn't matter too much for me. But my lower gens I want them even.
In the end, it is all about your own goals! You need to have fun in this game and play it the way you want to.
I recently started playing again on HJ2 as some kind of experiment, and I really enjoy bootstrapping/uneven breeding over there. So again: play how you want to play and how you get fullfilment out of this game!HJ1 160524
