Been trying to put these guys discounted way under the market or based on other sale prices & theyre getting repeatedly voted down.
Would anyone like to offer before I just snip them?

15k for the candle glow? :)

People are crazy! What do you want for the Bronze age mare?
-
People aren’t looking to pay more than what you paid for a recently bought horse. I know it sounds harsh, and I don’t mean to be, just trying to put it into perspective. :)Craven Hill - 86081

Whats a fair price for Pretzel Twist & Paradise Play?Post edited by bravo25 at 2019-12-15 17:40:19 -
You paid 250K for the draft and only 120K for the other. I would list them at the same price.Craven Hill - 86081

The pretzels have gone as high as 500k for a straight sale. Easiest way is to auction them unless you're trying to make a quick sale.Post edited by bluchrystals at 2019-12-15 17:44:19

Same for the Paradise horses. The only one I have looked at was bought for 10K.Craven Hill - 86081

I bought them just to help keep their market values up. Otherwise over time they lose value until theyre like exceptional creates or other RS like Storm Warning and theyre only worth a creation pricePost edited by bravo25 at 2019-12-15 17:49:24

This is true Blu, but buyers are going to look at the records of previously owned horses that are back on the market. :)Craven Hill - 86081

I don't usually. If it's one I want, I'll purchase it. If it's not, I'll pass.
-
@bravo25 why are you trying to keep the market value up?Spiderweb Stables

The foundations are at purchase price & the lined horses are OBO

It does seem to take advantage of players who did not know the horse’s value when they sold it to purchase at a low price, just to resell them at a higher price. Technically it’s fair, but I could see it as a factor for some when considering the purchase.

On most of the new RS, the market value will never go too far down because they can’t be recreated without real money.Craven Hill - 86081

Thank you for the Pretzels. I picked up both of them. I would have picked them both up for the 500k, but didn't have the full amount yet. Had to wait till after auction to pick one up, but you already had them discounted, so I picked up both.
-
I've actually paid a lot more for one. If I remember right when they first came out, I bought a stud for 1mil. Highest I ever paid for a horse. I'd say they were only voted down because someone didn't want to pay that price, not necessarily because it was overpriced. Auction prices have ranged between 350 and 500k so straight price should have been about the same.

Many of those were not bought at what you would consider "market value". I think this might be what is bothering people the most about this. Newer players are not going to realize what these guys are going for ... so they get snapped up and suddenly their price jumps ... and not by a little bit.
This is why I have a hard time selling anything ... most times i might find a "deal" but I don't want to profit off the back of one that doesn't know, so many of mine do not go for market value, but what i paid for them, their age and how well they've done in their shows. Many of mine are kept in house because of this and I very ever rarely sell anything that is not gelded or a RS ... I've had accidental slip outs ... but mostly they stay with me.
My RS's that i don't keep ... usually go right into the auction ... I pass up more RS's when creating because they are something that I'm not going to use.Thanked by 1SharayahStables -
I did not notice this when I wrote my first comment.

I agree with Galway and Corvus and Lena. If a horse is worth 500k, the newbie who created it and decided to sell it should be getting that 500k. @bravo25, some of your horses are getting voted down because you are pricing them far above market value, whether you realize this or not- the price set on the few that are sitting on the sales board and not moving isn't market value, the price that they're actually selling for is market value. It can take a little hunting and watching the forum to figure out what that number is, a sales board search won't do it. But others are getting downvoted because people can see what you bought them for and from whom. Whether you intend it this way or not-and I'm choosing to believe you're not, that's why I'm bothering to post this- that looks very much like taking advantage of other players. Most of us are not alright with that, and not willing to support it by buying a horse from someone who's doing that.
If I see someone selling a horse I want for far below market value, I buy it and then send them the difference and message them about why. I know many many other players do this as well.
Also remember that a person can only vote a horse down once. If your horses are getting voted down multiple times, each time is three more separate people who think the price is unfair. It is unlikely, especially in this community, that these are all people who think the horse actually is worth that much, but vote it down because they personally want to buy it for less. It's because you're overpricing them. This is meant to be helpful, not an insult.
If the market value on a new RS drops, it's because the 'newness factor' is wearing off and they're starting to sell for what they're intrinsically worth. This isn't a bad thing, and shouldn't be prevented.
I sincerely hope you'll take this and others' comments as they're intended, not as personal attacks. We're just trying to support the community we want to be a part of and to protect our newbies. Again, I am choosing to believe that any apparent maliciousness on your part was completely unintentional, so I am giving you the information you would have to be lacking if that is trueSpiderweb Stables

Was just trying to build up funds to improve space, did not realize flipping horses was unintentionally offensive. I do apologize to all.
