  • Hello, I am curious as to how some people are able to get horses into the thousands of points on their horses.

  • One easy way to start is to sign up for the HAJ newsletter! Ammit always gives a link to create a 1,000pt show pony at the bottom of the newsletter. It is a fun way to learn more about the game, too. :-*

  • Train and show your horses 2x every week and keep them in your barn without selling them.

Horses with thousands of points are usually older and have been around for around a real life year or more.

  • What the other people are saying.

Start out with horses that are created with points, with perfect or exceptionally perfect showing ability. Sell everyone that have less than 300 points, and create them as yearlings, so they will have time to pay you more during their lifetime, and gain more points.

Then, when you have a steady income from pointed foundations, you can buy show ponies with higher PT, that will gain even more points during their lifetime.

And by this time, next year, you will probably have multiple horses with 1000+ points, if you show every horse 2 times every week.

Do you participate in Secret Santa this year? If so, good show horses is a great wish :)

    Good luck, and have fun!

  • Plus, lots of us have bred with a goal of really high Performance Test scores in mind, which means the horse will move up into the higher showing brackets quicker, therefore getting more points because there are more horses in those classes.

  • True! And the fun thing is that a good foundations created with points outperforms my 14+ PT show horses completely, until they reach the age of 10-12 year. This is how valueable a pointed foundation actually is!

After they are 11-12 year old, the high PT-horses begins to really collect points, but before that, most of them are far behind my herd of exceptional show horses created with 350-400+ points as yearlings

  • If you need to build your economy, and can still create foundations with points, here is what I would do:

    1)
First, try to get hold of all the following Herd helpers you can get:
    - Exceptionally Perfect
    - Exceptionally Producing (of all kinds)
    - Exceptional Show Horse
    - Perfect Foundations
    - Great Show Horse
    - Rank Specials

Because they will be more attractive to buyers. Then, when you have created as many as you can with these HHs every day, you can start creating from regular Herd Helpers.

    2)
If you get a rare 600+pointed horse, keep him if you want, but sell everyone else, unless it is a rare HH that you just can't part with.

Put the horses up for sale for 50-60% of their lifetime value, announce it on the forum, and they will sell quick. If you name them according to their HH, it is more easy for buyers to see which ones they want to buy. F.ex I would call a horse created from the Exceptionally Perfect HH something like "9890973 Ex Perfect" or "9890973 Great ShowH" if it is the "Great Show Horse" HH you used etc.

You do not need to waste money on testing them, other than the free breeding test, because experienced players will already know about how good they are, if they are created from one of the above Herd Helpers.

    3)
Enter any horse that did not sell after a couple of days into the auction, and use the money you earn to create new horses, and repeat step 1-3. Keep only the few that you do not want to part with, or will be crucial to your breeding program, and the ones with the highest points. (more than 500+ at least), because as a new member, you want to keep the horses that earn you the most pr stable they hold.

Once you have reached your limit of 20 000 points held, and all the horses in your stable are horses you want to keep, it is time to use the money you have saved in your bank account (it can be a nice amount by now) and buy the biggest barn you can afford.

    4)
Now it is time to buy other player's pointed foundations, and fill the new barn with pointed foundation show horses only. When you have done this, you will have a nice, steady income to support your pixel pony addiction

    5)
Since this is a special month, you can also get a nice income by selling off the new, rare Rank Specials that does not fit your breeding program for their real market value. Forum auction is probably the best way to make sure that you get payed what they are worth, or just put them straight up for sale for the prices you see they sell for on the forum. Do some research :)

The money you earn from this should be used to buy a Basic upgrade, or for saving for the special show barn.

    - If you reach the 20 000 points held-limit, and can no longer create foundations with points, just sell the horses, and you can start creating horses with points again, until all the horses you have in your barn are super high 5-600+ pointed horses, and their total amount of points exceeds 20 000.

Good luck, and have fun! :)

  • I second what Herzeloyde said. Another method for getting a decent amount of hbs quick is creating 4yr old mares (do not BA test them) and breeding them in the pasture, then putting both the mares and foals in auction. You are just getting the hjbs back out of the mares you put into them, but the foals are a 2,000 profit per foal. The mares if they have over 250 points can usually be sold quickly for 1/3 of their lifetime payout, if they have over 350 points then sell them for what Herzeloyde said. It is important you don’t do any testing before you breed the mares, and only do BA testing after you have bred them; otherwise your profit will be significantly less.
