The gene modification page gives a rundown of costs of each. It says 1 token for height and if I remember correctly it gives a range of choices

ETA: I just went and tried it with a 2nd Gen mare I needed to gmt. She was 15hh and clicking the button gave the option of changing her to 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 15, 15.1, 15.2, 15.3 so you’ll need to find a horse that is already quite tall

So you can pick the height you’re going for? I just wondered if it added an inch at a time and you had to keep going until you get where you want.

Thanks, all! I was kind of looking forward to giving them an 18h Baroque foundation, but it appears the giant mare hunt must continue. Unfortunately, the ones that most closely meet their other criteria seem to be owned by people who haven’t logged in in a couple months:/

@bluchrystals - neither is a necessity; my recipient has pretty broad tastes. Thankfully, @Herzeloyde was kind enough to give me two absolutely splendid giant mares that I can hardly wait to deliver.
