So I pulled straws from a bone fire Stud I sold. Well the person who bought him is gonna put Splash M on him, would I get in trouble since I have the straws orrr?

No I don't think so, as long as you don't breed to him or use his straws he shouldn't have any offspring yet so he should still be GMTable.
The only conflict I see that could happen is if you don't have the Splash M license, then I'm not sure what happens.

That’s what I’m talking about. I pulled the straws before I sold him. But as soon as I saw he was gonna have Splash M I was like “oh crud”

That's really not very good practice either, to pull straws from a horse you know is GMTable, and intend to sell. If you wanted to breed to him, it would have been better to have just kept him for yourself.

You could always sell the straws to them or back to the game. I’m not sure that they would be able to put a closed gene on a horse that had straws out in a barn that doesn’t own that gene.

Yes, you created the horse for them so it was really not kind to take straws without permission.

It would be best just to send the straws to the new owner for 1hb each as they will be worthless to you once the horse is modified.

I really need to add a system that publicly declares how many straws/eggs have been taken from a horse on the sales page so that everyone is on the same page with this sort of thing.

That would be amazing Ammit! I bought a horse on the other server as GMTable, and was gonna make him a mare, but he had 10 straws pulled. Not from the person who sold him to me, but from his first owner. Luckily it worked out, as she was happy to sell them to me. He already had several genes that the holder of the straws did not own, so she couldnt have made much use of them anyway.

To clarify, not on etiquette but mechanics, if you pull straws/eggs from a GMTable horse, then modify that horse on your same account, the straws contain the new genes of the modified horse, correct?

Also, if you do pull eggs/straws and then sell the horse (presumably with consent of all involved), does that make the horse non-GMTable? And if not, do the straws/eggs modify with the horse?

The horse is still gmt-able with straws/eggs pulled, except for changing gender. And yes the straws are what the horse is at the time you make the foal, so whatever his genetics are then

Yes, it happened to me once before as well, they'd pulled 500 straws before they sold to me. Ammit sorted it out but yeh to have something on a horse for sale if it had eggs or straws pulled would be a great addition

Does there happen to be a way to check if a horse has straws pulled if you don't own it? Like I'm presuming not, since that would be a whole other Thing to code for, I'm just wondering.

What about horses who aren’t GMT’able?

When I was new, I had a stallion I’d added GP and nd1 one. But I ended up needing to sell him for barn space for show horses to get my game going. Before I sold him, I pulled a few straws. Not many. I was broke then. Lol

Is that okay or still not good etiquette?
I don’t tend to sell stallions I want foals from anymore so I don’t think I’ll encounter that situation. Just wondering for the sake of knowing.

Basically don't take straws/eggs from horses and not disclose that information. It's like knowing a house has to have some structural work done and not informing the person you are selling it too. Maybe it's not a big deal to them but they have the right to know about it and decide that.

The game automatically discloses that information so it won't be an issue going forward.

Whenever possible I attempt to make it so the game won't let you intentionally or accidentally break etiquette rules. It is far better for everyone that way.

I was the one who purchased this horse. He was to be a Secret Santa gift and then I would add Splash M. I no longer own this horse, but i think it would be a respectful gesture to either sell the straws to the new owner for 1hb or to yum them.

Edited: I think I will create and use a different horse.
