if that's the case you should have a reserve price or starting bid, so people know what sort of price range you are expecting

You know, an auction is the only way to get a true "fair price" (for both the seller and the buyer), as the price you are getting are both the highest someone will go without being "pushed up" by the seller. So I would say the price you are getting is very much a "fair price". Much more so than putting it up for way more than it is worth in hope of someone being desperate enough to buy it. The prices foundation horses are being posted for these days are absolutely insane. I can not remember we have ever had this type of thing happen before, where so many horses are posted for several hundred thousand more than what their actual worth is, on a regular basis.

Also, not putting an end date is not very nice. Just set it a couple of days from now, and everyone who would want it would have seen it. Also, definately use a starting bid. If the horse is not up for public sales, people will bid on it. If you have a reserve in mind, the easiest thing is just putting up straight away. If not, you will have to sell to the highest bidder, no matter if you think it is too low. Dragging out the end time will just make people resent you.

@Maribo the horses with the 6 figure prices have rare and expensive genes. This horse is hom for snowflake and has DP.

Probably best to take that rant outside of her personal auction though. :)
