Breeding test
-
What is the rating that your test will come out good? I tested two mares and two stallions. Both of the mares came out fine, whereas my stallions were both gelded.
Being new to this game I dont really have the coins to keep creating stallions in hopes they'll be good enough to breed, are the gelded worth keeping? -
You should check out the Foundation Rescue. Go to the search and put in 13 as the owner ID #. Those horses are guaranteed to have perfect (for foundation horses) showing and breeding ability.
There is a bonus to training scores given to every spayed, or gelded horse, so they can really help out your nightly bonus. As long as you have room in your barns you should keep as many as you can!
Here's a link to the rescue to get you started. https://www.huntandjump.com/adv_search.php?runsearch=1&status=sale&ageg=&agel=&agee=&erag=&eral=&erae=&heightg=&heightl=&heighte=&boneg=&bonel=&bonee=&f_basic=none&f_adv=none&f_limit=25&stallion=1&mare=1&gelding=1&spayedmare=1&bty=1&nbty=1&lined=lined&foundation=1&name=&name_lm=like&color=&color_lm=like&owner=13&owner_lm=like&breeder=&breeder_lm=like&sire=&sire_lm=like&dam=&dam_lm=like&barn=&barn_lm=like&pasture=&past_lm=like&tattoo=&tat_lm=like&tat_and=and&club=&bc_lm=like&bc_and=and&e1=&e2=&a1=&a4=&a2=&a3=&f1=&f2=&p1=&p2=&s1=&s2=&s3=&c1=&c2=&c3=&d1=&d3=&d2=&d4=&g1=&g2=&ch1=&ch2=&z1=&z2=&sa2=&sa1=&mu2=&mu1=&chn2=&chn1=&tig1=&tig2=&tig3=&kit1=&kit2=&kit3=&kit4=&kit5=&kit6=&kit10=&kit11=&kit12=&kit7=&kit8=&kit9=&sp1=&sp2=&sp3=&spM=&pax31=&pax32=&rb1=&rb2=&o1=&o2=&l1=&l2=&ice1=&icei=&ice2=&ice3=&ice4=&ice5=&ice6=&ice7=&ice8=&ice9=&ice10=&ice11=&ice12=&ice13=&ice14=&ice15=&nexn=&nexx=&nexr=&nexg=&nexb=&nexw=&rainr=&rainwt=&rainpl=&raint=&rainna=&brindle1=1&brindle2=1&wf1=1&wf2=1&wf3=1&wf4=1&wf5=1&wf6=1Post edited by ConfluenceStable at 2019-12-29 15:40:48

It’s always best to post links to horses you have questions about. There a range of reasons why the mares passed and the studs didn’t.
Spayed mares and Geldings are the lifeblood of your barns. They take very little to maintain showing and don’t take long to start covering their fees
Breeding horses cost more money from breeding each season and having to buy extra barns to hold all your horses.
A ratio of 1 intact horse to 3 show horses is an ideal goal for a barn to try to achieve if you want to be a self sustaining barn.Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes -
Thank you so much for the link. There seems to be far more successful mare breeding test than stallions. Why is that?
I created and tested a third and again it came out gelded. Is the breeding test broken? -
The test is the same for mares and stallions. If you link us to the horses, we'll probably be able to tell you why the mares passed and the stallions didn't, or if it's just luckSpiderweb Stables

Think I did that right. These are the males I had tested. I have a fourth to test as well.Post edited by VonGhul at 2019-12-29 16:51:19 -
That's just a link to the image, you need the link to the horse's page. I went and found them though, the search function is fantastic!
So here's where you're at- your first four creates were from a Homozygous Tobiano Herd Helper. This HH (Herd Helper) doesn't have any quality factors built into it like some do, so some will pass and some will not. The fact that the mare passed and the three stallions didn't is pure luck.
Then you have this girl:
Nothstar
She's a Spiked Eggnog HH, and those are Exceptionally Perfect. ALL Spiked Eggnogs will pass breeding advice, and strict breeding advice if you have an upgrade, because the quality needed to pass is one of the traits of the HH. The same applies to all Rank Special HHs like this one, as well as any Exceptional Producing, Exceptionally Perfect, Top Notch Producers, Perfect Foundations, anything with words like that in the HH name.
"Exceptional" ones like the Spiked Eggnog are a little better than "Perfect" or "Top Notch" ones, so that mare both passes and is higher quality than your other mare.
The stallion you haven't tested yet is in the same situation as the first ones- there is no quality factor built into that HH, just color ones, so there's no saying how good, bad, or really bad he might be for breeding until you test him and find out.Spiderweb Stables

I think that the reason there are more mares than stallions is that people create more mares. You only need one stallion with the desired genes, but you do need lots of mares.

That seems a bit confusing. Though I am glad the Male horse I purchased came out to breed ok.
Thank you for all your help. I've still got so much to learn on here. -
Do you have a favourite colour? I may be able to help you out with some nice genes if you want :)Thanked by 1KnockBoxFarm

Yes! Favorite colors? What are your breeding goals?
I can send you some Exceptionally Perfect Tobiano pretties if someone can donate chat space! -
I'm always willing to donate space in one of my chat rooms to facilitate guaranteed safe sales. Just PM me with ID's for seller and buyer. I currently have three open for use.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2019-12-29 21:10:25

I'm afraid I don't understand anything about genes yet. By colors do you mean horse coats?
-
Yes. They are asking if you like black, bay, chestnut... etc coloured horses. If your not sure you can always post a horse you like and we can tell you about it’s colour or statsPost edited by Bandit1119 at 2019-12-30 05:17:23Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
