*Last Call* Huge Yearling Giveaway!
-
Happy January! I had so much fun on H&J during the winter festival last month that I wanted to keep the spirit of giving going. In honor of my daughter's first birthday at the end of the month, I've decided to give away all of the yearlings that I would have otherwise sent to the auction. This is the first giveaway I'm hosting, so please bear with me as I am still learning a lot about this game. :)
During the Winter Festival last month, I was blown away by the generosity of this online community. It made me wonder about the ways that you guys are generous in real life.
One of my personal goals for 2020 is to be more generous with my time - I want to devote more of my time to serving people in the real-life community around me. I'm curious about the type of volunteer work you all are involved in - maybe I'll get some new ideas for ways I can help out!
The link to the giveaway foals is at the bottom of the post - I'll be adding to the list as I finish up my breeding this month. Most of the foals are 2G Riding Horses or Warmbloods, and most of them carry pearl.
Here are the giveaway rules -
~Anyone can join the giveaway, and I will make every effort to get your chosen foals to you, but I cannot make any promises that you will get your first choice foal(s). I'll be using the chat room called "Crowned1's Foal Giveaway" for drop-offs (thanks @Taliesin for letting me borrow the chat room!). If you don't have an upgraded account, I'll do my best to get your foal to you by a public sale, but know that sometimes horses get snatched up by someone else if you have to do it as a public sale.
~I will continue taking entries until the end of the month. If I have leftover foals at that time, they will go to the auction.
~Players who have been here less than a year (joined in January 2019 or after) can choose 2 foals.
~You can do what you like with your foal- breed it, show it, even send it to auction. :)
~ To enter, post 1) your ID#, 2) the name number of the foal(s) you are interested in (the foals are all named with numbers) , and 3) what kind of volunteer work you are passionate about - it can either be something you've done in the past, are currently doing, or would like to do in the future.
Thanks for everything that all of you so to make both the HAJ community and your real-world communities wonderful places!

How generous of you! This community is amazing.
My ID # is 260926, I started playing in November. I used to volunteer with my horse to do thereputic horseback riding for disabled kids. It really made me feel good to see them light up when they saw the horses!

Here, I set up a chat you can use for this, if you like! It's By Request, and I made you a mod so you can add people yourself

Thanks Tali! You are one of the people that makes this community great. :)
@Mistylynn91 - I've always wanted to volunteer at a theraputic riding program - that type of work combines so many of my passions! I've always found that my spirits are lifted when I spend time around others with differing abilities and see the ways that they overcome the challenges in their lives.
Your foal is up for you in that the chatroom. If you'd like, you can choose a second foal as well since you've been playing for less than a year. :)Post edited by Crowned1 at 2020-01-11 11:17:12 -

My ID is 263354, I’ve been volunteering as a coach for Science Olympiad at a middle school for the last 10 years! (I didn’t know how long it’s been till just now...wow) I’ve also volunteered recently at a local salmon hatchery during the spawning season. You’ve never appreciated how big a fish can get until you try to catch with your bare hands!
If I can I’d love to get

Those but sound like very interesting volunteer opportunities. I have never heard of Science Olympiad before, but it sounds like a lot of fun for nerds like me! :-B
Catching salmon with your bare hands must be pretty crazy! I remember seeing wild salmon in Alaska when I visited there several years ago. I had never seen so many fish in one place at a time! The creeks were so full of them that it was almost as if you could walk across on their backs. As a lover of salmon on my dinner plate, I'm very thankful for what you have done to maintain the population of those delicious fish! =D> -
Thanks! I honestly never really thought about how big of a fish they were until I got the chance to help out at the hatchery! It’s pretty amazing! 20-30+ lbs each!
SO is a fun yearly competition that has lots of different events. I always end up helping with the airplane/flying thing event and whatever version of animal ID test there is -

I really love sharing food with people. It's such a necessity for life and so many people don't have enough. Since I had my daughter 18 months ago I've mostly just been bringing meals to my friends after they have a baby, foster a new kid whose problems mean less time for cooking, or family friends where one of them is disabled. However now that my daughter is getting a little older I would really like to get involved in my local food pantry so that my daughter can see all the different life circumstances that people live in and how important it is to do what you can to help others. -
@Foxhntr26 - They are in the chat room for you. :)
I also enjoy making meals for people. Food is one of my love languages, so I get special joy by sharing a meal with someone who might need help or a pick-me-up. I think that a food pantry might be a great place to volunteer with a preschooler - my 2 1/2 yo loves being a "helper" and sorting items. I'm going to file that idea away for once my baby is a little older and I can take both kiddos out to help me on a project.Post edited by Crowned1 at 2020-01-17 12:49:11Thanked by 1Foxhntr26 -

Hey guys, I'll going to start putting these babies in the auction tomorrow so I can free up some barn space.
There are still a ton left, and I'd love for you to have them, so let me know if you are interested! :D -
