Whats everyones breeding goals for this upcomming feburary?
-
This next few breeding seasons im taking quality instead of quantity into concideration. There seems to be an over abundance of horses making the value drop for most colors. My goal is to increase the value of the stock i have. Ive been cleaning out the barns spaying/gelding a bunch of horses and well cleaning them out. Now for my foals these next few months are going to hit strict tests. If theyre weaker or are plain colored compared to parents im selling them back to the game. If theyre average ill concider selling a couple then selling rest back to game. If they prove to be better offspring then ill keep them.
Show horses, anything under 11.20 pt will be sold back to the game. I feel this will help me slow down foal production so i dont have to buy a 30-60 stall barn every month lol ;;) this will also hit my mares and stallions as those who produce weaker offspring will be spayed/geld and in time be auctioned off. And eventually slow the numbers of a particular horse color quantity and replacing it with quality that will hopefully raise the value in those types.
What are your goals? -
Hmm. Sounds like my goals should probably be rewritten to match yours. I have the same ‘gee, I need a new barn’ thing every month. I’m planning to get the first generation on my cherry drop appy project, which will eventually be crossed into my snowflake line, while breeding into some amusing new genes to fancy up my Era 8 liver herd.
-
My goals for this season will be working the Chocolate gene into some of my snowflake and KIT lines, I got really lucky with the straw that Ammit gave us and ended up with a Satin Snowflake Hetro Sup to sire son (hopefully on the snowflake not sure yet ...) And through the kindness of another player a hom chocolate foundation Christmas Present boy (they put the second copy on him).
CRVS Khansuudyn Dark
CRVS1 Hengroen GoCP
I can focus on colour this go around as I was able to get everything bred this month, so when roll over goes I won't take such a big hit in the show ponies (as I have been over the last few months) Weed out some of my 2nd gen satins so that they are ready when Sun's turns three.
I'm really excited for this season, Hen didn't breed anything with a pasture bonus and did really, really well ... I want to put him against all my Christmas RS's and see what pops out. The end goal will be snowflake chocolate tiger eye appies with gp, hopefully by 4th gen all bred in, and chocolate, tiger eye gp kp sab2 riding horses by 4th gen in the other lines ... then a huge clean out after that, filling my show barns again lol

My goals are easy this month, cuz I just changed directions. Looking for large-spotted, small pony gray appies. In a few seasons, hopefully I'll start seeing some snowflake babies, but that's a third-gen goal, and I'm barely started getting second-gen! :-)
(ETA: probably will cull on height & consistency for fillies, with stricter size, paper, consistency, and genetic requirements for colts - if I don't have a single colt that matches what I want this season, well, that's fine because the fillies won't be breedable until a month after the colts anyway, so I've got time!)Post edited by darkpixe at 2020-01-31 11:50:14ID 253156 | Breeding for black-based greys with satin -
Finish emptying out my freezer and then heading to HJ2 to work on sorting over there.
ETA just did the math and down to 500 straws left in my freezers to use up. Then all the embryos to implant.Post edited by Bandit1119 at 2020-02-01 05:15:31Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes -
@Brandybrookes if I can make a suggestion, consider snipping your culls and sticking them in the auction instead of selling them back to the game. Unless they have a fantasy buy-back option you'll make 1500 more that way, and most of them will get bought by the H&J auction bidder anyway.
As for me, my February goals are culling related! I'm gonna be doing a bunch of snipping and auctioning myself, and selling lots of foundation mares and lined horses that are good enough quality to sell. I need to get down to that point where my daily covers what I want to do! The other side of that is upping my show barns and growing my daily, so that's a goal too!Spiderweb Stables

My goal for this month is to clean out my stallion prospect barn and do some more culling.

My goals have shifted several times over the past RL years lol I have narrowed my focus down to two very specific lines: Mushroom and Chinchilla.
I am focusing on breeding strict, top quality horses. Here are the guidelines i am planning on following:
1. All foundations in these two lines must be Exceptional
2. All foals must be run through SBA, including lab babies
3. Foals must paper 2G-3G A/Blue and 4G+ Star/Gold
4. All colts must paper superior to sire and fillies superior to dam (Can use boost tokens)
5. 3G+ MUST be homozygous for the main gene of the line (so must be either hom mushroom or hom chinchilla) to remain intact. 2G is the only exception for Het.
6. Must be consistent. (Can GMT consistency)
7. Mares must follow this AFPT score:Ammit December 2016
69.69.172.135
9.9
2G 10.3
3G 10.7
4G 11.1
5G 11.6
6G and up 12 or higher
.4 gain per generation is a strict but very obtainable goal.
I am striving for top quality horses in these lines. The main genes i am focusing on are Mushroom and Chinchilla but each line has other goodies mixed in. These are my founders of each line:
Chinchilla Stallions:
Matrix is also going to be used as a side project as well as a main one. I will use all his 3G+ foals that don't qualify color wise for the chinchilla line, as part of a satin/plaid/pearl side line.
HS 1G Matrix Dodge CQPl
HS 1G Platinum Record Co
HS 1G Pierrot CDZNo
Chinchilla Mares (including ones that are still in progress):
These girls are helping me slowly introduce Chocolate into my chinchilla line
1G Risk of Rain Co3Y
These two are WIPs
GMT Evergreen Boughs
GMT Pretzel 9833361
Mushroom Stallions:
HS 1G Troubadour UDZNo
HS 1G Faded Gold
This guy just needs one more copy of mushroom, just waiting on someone to take up my offer! I am hoping i can squeeze a copy of S+ on him as well before the 5th!
GMT Bronze Age Mushroom
Mushroom Mares:
1G Pretzel Baronness
1G El Dorado UPDoh
This gal just needs 2 copies of mushroom which i can hopefully save up hbs enough to ask for this rotation! I also want to try for that second DP at least too :)

Oh right, chocolate exists now! Oooh, I can start using my stud this year, that's gonna be nice. And I think my satin guy who should throw me livers half the time and silver bays the other half should be ready to start, now.ID #238663, she/her pronouns

I am just now getting to point where I'm sorting out actual breeding goals. Since I started playing in November I have just been breeding and buying whatever I think looks pretty. Now I have too many horses without a purpose and quite a bit of uneven bred stuff. My goals are to force myself to cull instead of keeping everything, stop buying and start building my own lines, stop crossing pairs just because I can and mainly with a focus on hom Chocolate and DP Silver Bay, and trying to improve the quality.ID# 260926 Magnum Riding Horses

I'm gonna breed all 81 of my blue mares to try and get a star / gold baby, other than that I'll do height and bone density breedings to try and phase out some of my larger / heavier horses.

I want to utilize comparison testing for the first time. The price has scared me away from it. But I need to cull my numbers so now is a good time! Going through all of my stallions age 3 and under today!Licensed in chinchilla, mushroom & splash M
