Someone smack me upside the head. Not because I did a thing, but because my timing in life is terrible. I don't know if y'all remember, but I had that TBI a couple months ago now. Well, I'm healing but still have a ways to go. So what did I do?

Rescued another horse.

I'm in love with her already and I'm haven't even met her yet. Convinced the fiance to drive me up to get her Friday, his one day off this week, and since I can't drive right now, he has to make the entire 8 hour trip solo driving. Ugh. What men have to do when they ask us crazy horse girls to marry them. Haha. She's older, but I prefer to rescue teenagers. This will be my second, my first mare passed away a couple years ago and I hadn't found the one that tugged on me yet (also not really sure I was ready.) This one looks a lot like my Serra, so I took the plunge. I didn't sleep last night waiting on the pen to open back up to see if I got her. Hoping photos are allowed, because here she is!!

Now, anyone got any cute name ideas? Her registered name is pronounced "Roo-kay-yah" and means Rising or Ascending. I won't have anything that begins with a K or L. Too much like my other girls. Prefer two syllables, but if it's three, I could work with it.

I'd totally name her Roo if she was mine!
I know it doesn't fit the syllables like you want.. I'm the weird person that if an animal comes with a name, I have to keep it in some way...

She's very pretty (low key jealous!)

Bambi, I am similar, but I add the caveat that I keep the animal’s name if he/she likes it. Both my dog and horse likes their names, their names remained. I tried to name my other dog several times before I got it right. Each time I tried a new name, he looked at me like I was the dumbest creature on earth. When I finally got it right, he ran right to me from across the room, as if to say, “You called?”

LenasHollywood, that's what happened with my cat. His name at the Humane Society was Cody. I figured I'd find a cooler name.....nope. He wanted to be Cody, so Cody he has been for 14 years!

Same with my Tank. It suits him, he's a 100 pound Mastiff mix, but I was gonna swap him to something more fun. Nope, that's his name, and I have to deal with it :))

I think her name sounds beautiful, and if it were me I'd keep it! How is it spelled?

@Lena I did that same process with one of my goats lol
She didn't come with a name so my husband and I were in the truck with her laying on the floorboard and we were naming off names... She was asleep the entire time until I said "Silvia" and she bleated so now her name is Silvia :D

Roo is a name of one I already have and Kaya sounds like another name I have (KK). She's already going to be coming all the time. Haha.

Fiance is lobbying for "Penny."

Story from her breeder after I reached put to her after I bought her. She's a well loved mare sold as a yearling, then that person sold her and she was "lost" for little more than a year. Popped up in the kill pen. She doesn't know what her barn name was at the barn she was at for 15 years.

Not the most tragic story, but a steal at the price I got her for. Unfortunately I don't have a back 40 to throw horses on, so I can only rescue horses that are at least hopefully breeding sound. Otherwise, I'd pull all the cripples all the time. Haha.

She's super cute! Looks like an Alice, Dixie, or Heidi to me. :) All of my pets end up with human names. Ha!
