Boost questions
  • How do I know how much boost to put on a foal to save it from getting snipped?

And how do I add the boost to the foal once I have purchased boosts?

  • I figured out how to add them to the foal!

  • It is kind of a crap shoot, but keep a few things in mind. When you compare them to their sire or dam and they test WORSE THAN, you are probably looking at a significant boost needed that may not even get them up to the AS GOOD AS level.

I tend to do a lot of comparison testing. Find another horse that passed testing and compare them, find a benchmark horse and compare them, etc.

  • Do you have a link to the foal you talking about?

  • I tried a 3% boost and it worked! Thanks!

  • On another horse- I compared him and he’s as good as sire. If I add a boost can I re-paper test him and maybe he’ll move up?

  • Chsney, he might. I don't remember the math (how many % points AGA goes on either side of the parents score, and how much a 1% boost adds, or something like that!), but I just did the same thing, except I added in a carefree dance in the woods, on a moonlight night, and got a new fancy 3G stallion!

  • Aha! So, spoonful of magic makes the foals much better. Looks like you're taking over from Mary Poppins. :D

  • but just to confirm- you can re-paper after boosting?

  • Witchcraft! Of course, that's what I've been missing! BRB, off to find a ram's skull and fill it with acorns! 8-X

On a side note, if anybody does know that math Confluence mentioned, I'd sincerely love to know it!

  • @SandyCreekAcres, everyone knows Mary Poppins was a Timelord, so I am GOOD with that!

@Taliesin, it is SO difficult to find a good Woodland glade in the city! And the neighbors tend to call the police when I try to use my back yard. Maybe I should try it with clothes on........

  • Clothes are overrated! You could just tell your neighbors you are fully clothed - in the skin of the last neighbors you had!

  • That escalated quickly! :)) X_X

Actually, both houses on either side of me are for sale, but not because I did anything nefarious! It's been several months of saws and hammers all day long, but that part is done. These little city bungalows are practically on top of one another, so there is no escaping the noise! (Ammit, you're probably looking forward to the sounds of saws and hammers, right?). :P

  • We are living on the farm until the new house is all finished. ;) I'll be miles away from all that.

  • 1% to get to Red, 5% to get to ExPro level. This is what Cheers told me from the other server. Don't know if this helps.

  • Sweet. Thanks @sheebaarab

  • That's from a perfect foundation SheebaArab, it varies a lot for foals depending on where they are!! If a foal passes BA, I think at worst they are 1 or 2% worse than the lower parent. So could be worth a boost but might not be quite enough to get superior. If they compared as good as I think yes a 5% boost would get them superior. I believe the as good as comparison has a 4% swing. I haven't tested those figures for a while though

  • Generally, I don't boost horses. Either they test superior or not, and if not, I speld them. I could buy 10 GMT tokens for the cost of boosting a horse to superior in most cases, and I always have more horses coming up the pipeline.
  • This was my first time boosting and I was primarily interested in doing in with the free chocolate straw we got since it came from an A foundation and I wanted the resulting foal to remain intact since it is homo chocolate

This is the mare I was questioning. I was wanting to make her a red. And I was told the above. Don't know if it is correct. A 5%boost will get a blue?
Also is she to late to boost?
Any pages that I might have missed on how to boost your horse?

  • She's 5yo, so too old to boost. She's a rank special foundation, so yes we know her breeding quality and what a boost would do. She's a yellow perfect foundation quality, so 1% would make her red, and 5% the same as an exceptional foundation, which is about a mid level red paper
