I just sent in my application to adopt Slew! Shes an Appendix and i had the amazing opportunity to have her as a school horse for not one semester, but two! I rode her first year, second semester for Advanced Western Riding and second year, second semester for Advanced English Riding! I am so nervous about waiting to hear back! I think i have a relatively decent chance since all my old teachers are on the committee and know how well i work with Slew but i don't wanna get my hopes up yet. But if y'all could say a prayer for me, i would appreciate it! I will for sure update this when i know if i got her or not! The only concerning part is that the college is 9.5 hours away so I have to convince my dad to go on a weekend trip lol But she is so worth it! I haven't seen her since i graduated in 2017 :x Wish me luck!

I bet your dad will be more than happy to go when you get picked for her!

My fiance grumbled, but he made the entire 11 hour round trip for me to pick up my newest herd member. Men might play mad, but they give in quick for us, especially daddies. Haha.

Well I got an email today from one of my instructors reguarding my application. Unfortunately, they have decided to go with another adopter. I am so heartbroken :( I know its probably best since I am barely making money right now but still, it hurt to read that email. I hope whoever got her loves her as much as I do.

OUCH ; but you have to think if they applied to get her ; they may also have ridden her in school ? or at least knew her and how Fabulous she was

@annismyrph that's possible but not 100% guaranteed. They adopt to people outside the program if the person applying is suitable. I honestly just hope she didn't go to any of the previous students that i am friends with on facebook :( I just don't think i could handle seeing posts about her with someone else

I'm so sorry. That's so disappointing. Maybe it's a good thing though. Maybe there is another horse out there that needs you and this is how you find them.

My soul horse passed just 13 days before I turned 15. I had many plans with him and had planned to take him to college with me. I didn't really know what to do without him so I just rode any and every horse. Then just a month after I turned 18 and 2 weeks after college started I found my soul horse part 2. She was just a yearling, and so afraid of people almost no one could touch her. She was supposed to be going to auction the next week. She is now 20yrs old and I trust her with my and my son's lives unquestioningly and he just turned 4.
Maybe you have a horse out there that needs you too.
